Materialismo
26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life?
36 For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world;8 but if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world;8 but if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
Tesouros no céu
Ajuntai tesouros no céu, onde traça e ferrugem não consomem. O bom nome vale mais que muitas riquezas, e a sabedoria supera o ouro.
19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal,20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
21 Jesus said to him, "If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."
1 A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.
16 To get wisdom is better than gold; to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
16 Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it.
Contentamento e generosidade
Grande ganho é a piedade com contentamento. A cobiça é idolatria, mas a generosidade traz alegria e bênção.
6 There is great gain in godliness with contentment;
17 As for the rich in this world, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on uncertain riches but on God who richly furnishes us with everything to enjoy.
5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, "I will never fail you nor forsake you."
5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
15 And he said to them, "Take heed, and beware of all covetousness; for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
10 He who loves money will not be satisfied with money; nor he who loves wealth, with gain: this also is vanity.
15 As he came from his mother's womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil, which he may carry away in his hand.
O invisível acima do visível
As coisas que se veem são temporais; as que não se veem são eternas. Devemos fixar os olhos no que é permanente e verdadeiro.
18 because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
11 A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall protecting him.
4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
5 When your eyes light upon it, it is gone; for suddenly it takes to itself wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven.
26 All day long the wicked covets, but the righteous gives and does not hold back.
8 Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,
9 also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire10 but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion.
32 Now the company of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had everything in common.
