22 Lying lips are detestable to the  Lord,  *

but faithful people are his delight.  *

8 But the cowards, faithless,  * detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars  *  — their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur,  * which is the second death."  *

16 The Lord hates six things;

in fact, seven are detestable to him:

17 arrogant eyes,  * a lying tongue,  *

hands that shed innocent blood,  *

18 a heart that plots wicked schemes,  *

feet eager to run to evil,  *

19 a lying witness who gives false testimony,  *

and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.  *

9 Do not lie  * to one another, since you have put off  * the old self  * with its practices

25 Therefore, putting away  * lying, speak the truth, each one to his neighbor,*,* because we are members of one another.

6 Jesus told him, "I am*the way,*the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

44 You are of your father the devil,*and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer*from the beginning*and does not stand in the truth,*because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature,*because he is a liar and the father of lies.

9 A false witness will not go unpunished,

and one who utters lies perishes.  *

7 No one who acts deceitfully

will live in my palace;

the one who tells lies

will not be retained here to guide me.  *,*

6 Making a fortune through a lying tongue

is a vanishing mist,  * a pursuit of death.  *,*,*

19 Truthful lips endure forever,

but a lying tongue, only a moment.  *

28 A lying tongue hates those it crushes,

and a flattering mouth causes ruin.

6 You destroy those who tell lies;  *

the Lord abhors violent and treacherous people.  *

11 "Do not steal.  * Do not act deceptively  * or lie  * to one another.
