Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah; but they that deal truly are his delight.(Proverbs 12:22)
These six things doth Jehovah hate, yea, seven are an abomination unto him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood; a heart that deviseth wicked imaginations; feet that are swift in running to mischief; a false witness that uttereth lies, and he that soweth discords among brethren.(Proverbs 6:16-19)
Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies: Jehovah abhorreth a man of blood and deceit.(Psalms 5:6)
Ye are of the devil, as your father, and ye desire to do the lusts of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks falsehood, he speaks of what is his own; for he is a liar and its father:(John 8:44)
Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father unless by me.(John 14:6)
Wherefore, having put off falsehood, speak truth every one with his neighbour, because we are members one of another.(Ephesians 4:25)
Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds,(Colossians 3:9)
As consequências do engano e o valor da integridade
A mentira pode parecer um atalho ou proteção momentânea, mas o texto bíblico adverte que ela não se sustenta com o tempo. A palavra verdadeira resiste e constrói, enquanto a fraude arruína relacionamentos, destrói reputações e atrai o juízo divino.
The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment.(Proverbs 12:19)
A false witness shall not be held innocent, and he that uttereth lies shall perish.(Proverbs 19:9)
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting breath of them that seek death.(Proverbs 21:6)
A lying tongue hateth those that are injured by it, and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.(Proverbs 26:28)
Ye shall not steal, and ye shall not deal falsely, and ye shall not lie one to another.(Leviticus 19:11)
He that practiseth deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that speaketh falsehoods shall not subsist in my sight.(Psalms 101:7)
But to the fearful and unbelieving, and sinners, and those who make themselves abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.(Revelation 21:8)
