Lying lips [are] an abomination to YHWH, || And steadfast doers [are] his delight.(Proverbs 12:22)
These six has YHWH hated, || Indeed, seven [are] abominations to His soul: High eyes, || False tongues, || And hands shedding innocent blood, A heart devising thoughts of vanity, || Feet hastening to run to evil, A false witness [who] breathes out lies, || And one sending forth contentions between brothers.(Proverbs 6:16-19)
You destroy those speaking lies, || YHWH detests a man of blood and deceit.(Psalms 5:6)
You are of a father—the Devil, and the desires of your father you will to do; he was a manslayer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him; when one may speak the falsehood, he speaks of his own, because he is a liar—also his father.(John 8:44)
Jesus says to him, "I AM the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, if not through Me;(John 14:6)
For this reason, putting away the lying, each speak truth with his neighbor, because we are members of one another;(Ephesians 4:25)
Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his practices,(Colossians 3:9)
As consequências do engano e o valor da integridade
A mentira pode parecer um atalho ou proteção momentânea, mas o texto bíblico adverte que ela não se sustenta com o tempo. A palavra verdadeira resiste e constrói, enquanto a fraude arruína relacionamentos, destrói reputações e atrai o juízo divino.
The lip of truth is established forever, || And a tongue of falsehood for a moment.(Proverbs 12:19)
A false witness is not acquitted, || And whoever breathes out lies perishes.(Proverbs 19:9)
The making of treasures by a lying tongue, || [Is] a vanity driven away of those seeking death.(Proverbs 21:6)
A lying tongue hates its bruised ones, || And a flattering mouth works an overthrow!(Proverbs 26:28)
You do not steal, nor feign, nor lie—each against his fellow.(Leviticus 19:11)
He who is working deceit does not dwell in my house, || Whoever is speaking lies is not established before my eyes.(Psalms 101:7)
But to fearful, and unsteadfast, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, their part [is] in the lake that is burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."(Revelation 21:8)
