Mentira
A mentira é condenada pela Bíblia como pecado grave. Deus é verdade, e quem mente se alinha com o pai da mentira. O cristão é chamado a falar a verdade em amor.
Deus odeia a mentira
Os lábios mentirosos são abominação para o Senhor. A Bíblia adverte que todo mentiroso terá parte no lago de fogo.

Falar a verdade
Despojai-vos da mentira e falai a verdade cada um com o próximo. Cristo é a verdade, e nos chama a ser testemunhas fiéis.
Therefore, having laid aside falsehood, each of you must speak the truth with his neighbor, because we are members of one another.

You belong to your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks lies, he speaks from his own character, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
Consequências da falsidade
A mentira destrói confiança e relacionamentos. As Escrituras alertam sobre os frutos amargos do engano e da falsidade.
