Messias
Jesus é o Messias prometido — o Cristo, o Ungido de Deus. Séculos de profecias apontaram para Ele, e Pedro declarou: 'Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo.'
A confissão messiânica
Pedro confessou: Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo. Os apóstolos pregaram incansavelmente que Jesus é o Messias prometido.
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the Son of the living God."
And every single day, in the temple [area] and in homes, they did not stop teaching and telling the good news of Jesus as the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).
But I have had help from God to this day, and I stand [before people] testifying to small and great alike, stating nothing except what the Prophets and Moses said would come to pass— that the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) was to suffer, and that He by being the first to rise from the dead [with an incorruptible body] would proclaim light (salvation) both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."
As profecias cumpridas
O Messias viria como Príncipe da Paz, Salvador e Senhor. Cada profecia se cumpriu em Jesus de Nazaré, nascido em Belém.
For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given;
And the government shall be upon His shoulder,
And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. [Is 25:1; 40:9-11; Matt 28:18; Luke 2:11]
For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah). [Mic 5:2]
Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) and holy is the person who takes part in the first resurrection; over these the second death [which is eternal separation from God, the lake of fire] has no power or authority, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and they will reign with Him a thousand years. [Ex 19:6; 1 Pet 2:5, 9; Rev 1:6; 5:10]
Therefore, you [who follow Me] must also be ready; because the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.
