Messias
Jesus é o Messias prometido — o Cristo, o Ungido de Deus. Séculos de profecias apontaram para Ele, e Pedro declarou: 'Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo.'
A confissão messiânica
Pedro confessou: Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo. Os apóstolos pregaram incansavelmente que Jesus é o Messias prometido.
15 He says to them, But *ye*, who do ye say that I am?16 And Simon Peter answering said, *Thou* art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
42 And every day, in the temple and in the houses, they ceased not teaching and announcing the glad tidings that Jesus {was} the Christ.
22 Having therefore met with {the} help which is from God, I have stood firm unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying nothing else than those things which both the prophets and Moses have said should happen,23 {namely,} whether Christ should suffer; whether he first, through resurrection of {the} dead, should announce light both to the people and to the nations.

O Messias viria como Príncipe da Paz, Salvador e Senhor. Cada profecia se cumpriu em Jesus de Nazaré, nascido em Belém.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name is called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty *God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
11 for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ {the} Lord.
