28 After this, Jesus knowing, that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar. And filling a sponge with vinegar, and putting it on a stalk of hyssop, they put it to his mouth.30 When Jesus had taken the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and bowing the head, he gave up the Ghost.

23 And the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part, and also his vesture: now the vesture was without seam, woven from the top throughout.24 They said therefore one to another, Let us not rent it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and cast lots for my vesture. These things therefore the soldiers did.25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene.26 Jesus therefore seeing his mother, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, saith to his mother, Woman, behold thy son.27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother. And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.

33 And when they were come to the place, called the place of a scull, there they crucified him, and the two malefactors, one on the right-hand, and one on the left.34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others: let him save himself, if he be the Christ, the chosen of God.36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.38 And a superscription also was written over him in Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew letters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.39 And one of the malefactors, who were hanging on the cross, reviled him, saying, If thou be the Christ, save thyself and us.40 But the other answering, rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this person hath done nothing amiss.42 And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me, when thou comest in thy kingdom.43 And Jesus said to him, Verily I say unto thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? Which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

51 And behold the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom, and the earth was shaken and the rocks were torn asunder: And the tombs were opened,52 and many bodies of holy men that slept were raised.53 And coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, went into the holy city, and appeared to many.54 And the centurion and they that were with him, guarding Jesus, seeing the earthquake and the things that were done, feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

13 No one hath greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him, may not perish, but have everlasting life.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more being reconciled, we shall be saved through his life.

16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

2 and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead, dieth no more; death no more hath dominion over him.10 For in that he died, he died to sin once for all; but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

3 Know ye not, that as many of us have been baptized into Jesus Christ, have been baptized into his death?4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death, that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life.

27 And as it is appointed for men once to die, and after this the judgment:28 So Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, will appear the second time, without sin, to them that look for him, unto salvation.

22 Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man pointed out to you of God, by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God wrought by him in the midst of you, as yourselves also know:23 Him being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands, have crucified and slain:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death, as it was not possible that he should be held under it.

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.

26 Therefore as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye shew forth the Lord's death, till he come.
