Morte

Por Bíblia Online

A morte é a realidade que todos enfrentam, mas para o cristão ela não é o fim. A Bíblia ensina que Cristo venceu a morte e nos dá a esperança da ressurreição e da vida eterna.

Cristo venceu a morte

Onde está, ó morte, o teu aguilhão? Cristo destruiu o poder da morte e nos deu a vitória pela ressurreição.

O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" [Hos 13:14] The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin [by which it brings death] is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The last enemy to be abolished and put to an end is death.

For since [it was] by a man that death came [into the world], it is also by a Man that the resurrection of the dead has come.

For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

This is a faithful and trustworthy saying:

If we died with Him, we will also live with Him;

Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) and holy is the person who takes part in the first resurrection; over these the second death [which is eternal separation from God, the lake of fire] has no power or authority, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and they will reign with Him a thousand years. [Ex 19:6; 1 Pet 2:5, 9; Rev 1:6; 5:10]

A esperança da vida eterna

Jesus disse: 'Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida.' Quem crê nele não está morto, mas apenas adormecido — e um dia despertará para a glória.

Jesus said to her, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, relies on) Me [as Savior] will live even if he dies;and everyone who lives and believes in Me [as Savior] will never die. Do you believe this?"

Jesus said to her, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, relies on) Me [as Savior] will live even if he dies;and everyone who lives and believes in Me [as Savior] will never die. Do you believe this?"

The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand.

"For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Those Who Died in Christ

Now we do not want you to be uninformed, believers, about those who are asleep [in death], so that you will not grieve [for them] as the others do who have no hope [beyond this present life]. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again [as in fact He did], even so God [in this same wayby raising them from the dead] will bring with Him those [believers] who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel and with the [blast of the] trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain [on the earth] will simultaneously be caught up (raptured) together with them [the resurrected ones] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord! [John 14:3; 1 Cor 15:52; 2 Cor 5:8; Phil 1:23; Col 3:4]

Não temas a morte

Não temas os que matam o corpo. Para o cristão, viver é Cristo e morrer é lucro. O vale da sombra da morte não assusta quem caminha com o Pastor.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity].

To Live Is Christ

For to me, to live is Christ [He is my source of joy, my reason to live] and to die is gain [for I will be with Him in eternity].

But I am hard-pressed between the two. I have the desire to leave [this world] and be with Christ, for that is far, far better; yet to remain in my body is more necessary and essential for your sake.

But [we are different, because] our citizenship is in heaven. And from there we eagerly await [the coming of] the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who, by exerting that power which enables Him even to subject everything to Himself, will [not only] transform [but completely refashion] our earthly bodies so that they will be like His glorious resurrected body.

Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death,

I fear no evil, for You are with me;

Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.

Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death,

I fear no evil, for You are with me;

Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.

If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

A eternidade nos aguarda

Deus enxugará toda lágrima. A morte será o último inimigo destruído. Para os salvos, a morte é a porta de entrada na presença eterna de Deus.

and then I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them [as their God,] [Lev 26:11, 12; Ezek 37:27; John 1:14; 1 Cor 3:16, 17] and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away." [Is 25:8; 35:10]

and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away." [Is 25:8; 35:10]

And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment,

For I am convinced [and continue to be convincedbeyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to willingly give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a good man [one who is noble and selfless and worthy] someone might even dare to die. But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

For if by the trespass of the one (Adam), death reigned through the one (Adam), much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in [eternal] life through the One, Jesus Christ.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A morte na perspectiva bíblica

Há tempo de nascer e tempo de morrer. A morte é realidade humana, mas Deus é Senhor tanto dos vivos quanto dos mortos.

Wisdom and Folly Contrasted

A good name is better than precious perfume,

And the day of one’s death better than the day of one’s birth.

He enters into peace [through death];

They rest in their beds (graves),

Each one who walked uprightly [following God’s will, living with integrity].

The people who walk in [spiritual] darkness

Will see a great Light;

Those who live in the dark land,

The Light will shine on them. [Is 42:6; Matt 4:15, 16]

but [only] from the tree of the knowledge (recognition) of good and evil you shall not eat, otherwise on the day that you eat from it, you shall most certainly die [because of your disobedience]."

What man can live and not see death?

Can he rescue his soul from the [powerful] hand of Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead)? Selah.

Where can I go from Your Spirit?

Or where can I flee from Your presence?

If I ascend to heaven, You are there;

If I make my bed in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead), behold, You are there. [Rom 11:33]

"Put me like a seal on your heart,

Like a seal on your arm;

For love is as strong as death,

Jealousy is as severe and cruel as Sheol (the place of the dead).

Its flashes are flashes of fire,

[A most vehement flame] the very flame of the Lord! [Deut 4:24; Is 49:16; 1 Cor 10:22]

"Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the Lord your God has promised concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, not one of them has failed.

For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies," says the Lord God. "Therefore, repent and live!"

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit!" Having said this, He breathed His last. [Ps 31:5]

In Hades (the realm of the dead), being in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom (paradise).And he cried out, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in severe agony in this flame.

Then when the illicit desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin has run its course, it gives birth to death.
