A mulher virtuosa
A mulher virtuosa de Provérbios 31 é um retrato de excelência. Seu valor excede o de rubis — ela é sábia, trabalhadora, generosa e teme ao Senhor acima de tudo.
Uma joia rara
Mulher virtuosa, quem a achará? Seu valor excede o de rubis. Ela é o coração da família e a força do lar.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.
The heart of her husband does safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil (plunder; prey; booty).
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeks wool, and flax, and works willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchants’ ships; she brings her food from afar.
She rises also while it is yet night, and gives meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considers a field, and buys it: with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
She girds her loins (thigh and groin area; often used for the reproductive organs) with strength, and strengthens her arms.
She perceives that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goes not out by night.
She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.
A virtuous woman [is] a crown to her husband: but she that makes ashamed [is] as rottenness in his bones.
And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to youi all that youi require: for all the city of my people does know that youi [are] a virtuous woman.
Caráter acima da aparência
Enganosa é a graça e vã é a formosura, mas a mulher que teme ao Senhor será louvada. A verdadeira beleza é interior.
Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] fears the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], she shall be praised.
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array (to put on; to clothe);
But (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.
House and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate].
The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
[To be] discreet, pure (clean; not corrupt), keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God-The Father be not blasphemed.
