Mulher
So God created humans to be like himself; he made men and women.
So the Lord God made him fall into a deep sleep, and he took out one of the man’s ribs. Then after closing the man’s side, the Lord made a woman out of the rib.
The Lord God brought her to the man, and the man exclaimed,
"Here is someone like me!
She is part of my body,
my own flesh and bones.
She came from me, a man.
So I will name her Woman!"
Virtude e caráter
A beleza é vã e a formosura passageira, mas a mulher que teme ao Senhor é digna de louvor. Seu caráter é seu maior tesouro.
Charm can be deceiving,
and beauty fades away,
but a woman
who honors the Lord
deserves to be praised.
A woman’s family
is held together
by her wisdom,
but it can be destroyed
by her foolishness.
A helpful wife is a jewel
for her husband,
but a shameless wife
will make his bones rot.
A gracious woman
will be respected,
but a ruthless man
will only get rich.
You may inherit all you own
from your parents,
but a sensible wife
is a gift from the Lord.
It’s better out in the desert
than at home with a nagging,
complaining wife.
Don’t worry, I’ll do what you have asked. You are respected by everyone in town.
Sabedoria e serviço
As mulheres da Bíblia foram líderes, profetisas e discípulas fiéis. Jesus honrou as mulheres e as incluiu em seu ministério.
Soon after this, Jesus was going through towns and villages, telling the good news about God’s kingdom. His twelve apostles were with him, and so were some women who had been healed of evil spirits and all sorts of diseases. One of the women was Mary Magdalene, who once had seven demons in her. Joanna, Susanna, and many others had also used what they owned to help Jesus and his disciples. Joanna’s husband Chuza was one of Herod’s officials.
If you are a wife, you must put your husband first. Even if he opposes our message, you will win him over by what you do. No one else will have to say anything to him,
If you are a husband, you should be thoughtful of your wife. Treat her with honor, because she isn’t as strong as you are, and she shares with you in the gift of life. Then nothing will stand in the way of your prayers.
Women must also be serious. They must not gossip or be heavy drinkers, and they must be faithful in everything they do.
Tell the older women to behave as those who love the Lord should. They must not gossip about others or be slaves of wine. They must teach what is proper, so the younger women will be loving wives and mothers. Each of the younger women must be sensible and kind, as well as a good homemaker, who puts her own husband first. Then no one can say insulting things about God’s message.
