28 Do you not know?

Have you not heard?

The Lord is the everlasting God,  *

the Creator of the whole earth.

He never becomes faint or weary;

there is no limit to his understanding.  *

29 He gives strength to the faint

and strengthens the powerless.

30 Youths may become faint and weary,

and young men stumble and fall,

31 but those who trust in the  Lord

will renew their strength;  *

they will soar on wings like eagles;  *

they will run and not become weary,

they will walk and not faint.

19 For people will live on Zion in Jerusalem. You will never weep again; he will show favor to you at the sound of your outcry; as soon as he hears, he will answer you.

1 Now this is what the Lord  says —

the one who created you, Jacob,

and the one who formed you, Israel  *  —

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;  *

I have called you by your name; you are mine.  *

2 When you pass through the waters,  *

I will be with you,  *

and the rivers will not overwhelm you.

When you walk through the fire,  *

you will not be scorched,

and the flame will not burn you.

3 For I am the Lord your God,  *

the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior.  *

I have given Egypt as a ransom for you,

Cush and Seba in your place.

12 I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot.  * In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content — whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. 13 I am able to do all things through him  * who strengthens me.  *

16 Therefore we do not give up.  * Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person  * is being renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary light affliction  * is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.  *18 So we do not focus on what is seen,  * but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

35 So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.  *

23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful.  *24 And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, 25 not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other,  * and all the more as you see the day approaching.

6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

12 For the word of God is living and effective  * and sharper than any double-edged sword,  * penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.  *

9 Let us not get tired  * of doing good,  * for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.

11 I am coming soon.*Hold on to what you have,*so that no one takes your crown.*

12 This calls for endurance from the saints,  * who keep God’s commands and their faith in Jesus."  *

12 Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown  * of life that God  * has promised to those who love him.  *

1 God is our refuge and strength,

a helper who is always found

in times of trouble.  *

22 Cast your burden on the  Lord,

and he will sustain you;  *

he will never allow the righteous to be shaken.  *

9 The Lord is a refuge for the persecuted,

a refuge in times of trouble.  *

10 Those who know your name trust in you

because you have not abandoned

those who seek you, Lord.  *

5 Those who sow in tears

will reap with shouts of joy.  *

6 Though one goes along weeping,

carrying the bag of seed,

he will surely come back with shouts of joy,

carrying his sheaves.  *

24 Be strong, and let your heart be courageous,  *

all you who put your hope in the  Lord.  *

105 Your word is a lamp for my feet  *

and a light on my path.

18 The Lord is near all who call out to him,

7 The Lord is good,

a stronghold in a day of distress;

he cares for those who take refuge  * in him.

11 For I know the plans I have for you"  *  — this is the Lord’s declaration — "plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

13 Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching  * that you have heard from me,  * in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved  * us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive  * us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

14 This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask  * anything according to his will, he hears us.  *15 And if we know that he hears whatever we ask,  * we know that we have what we have asked of him.  *
