18 Now the birth of Jesus the *Messiah was as follows: when His mother Mary had been *betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit. 19 And her husband Joseph, since he was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her, planned to *send her away secretly. 20 But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for *the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for *He will save His people from their sins."

22 Now all this *took place so that what was spoken by the Lord through *the prophet would be fulfilled: 23 "Behold, the virgin will*conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him*Immanuel," which translated means, "God with us." 24 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, 25 *but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he named Him Jesus.

14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the *virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him *Immanuel.

26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin *betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the *descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was *Mary.

30 And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end."

34 But Mary said to the angel, "How will this be, since I *am a virgin?" 35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason also the *holy Child will be called the Son of God.

13 For You created my innermost parts;

You wove me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will give thanks to You, because *I am awesomely and wonderfully made;

Wonderful are Your works,

And my soul knows it very well.

15 My *frame was not hidden from You

When I was made in secret,

And skillfully formed in the depths of the earth;

16 Your eyes have seen my formless substance;

And in Your book were written

All the days that were ordained for me,

When as yet there was not one of them.

5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

And before you were born I consecrated you;

I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

9 Yet You are He who brought me forth from the womb;

You made me trust when upon my mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon You from *birth;

You have been my God from my mother’s womb.

6 I have leaned on You since my birth;

You are He who took me from my mother’s womb;

My praise is continually *of You.

15 "Can a woman forget her nursing child

And have no compassion on the son of her womb?

Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.

9 "Shall I bring to the point of birth but not give delivery?" says the Lord.

"Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?" says your God.

14 But Jesus said, "*Leave the children alone, and do not *forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

4 So whoever will humble himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.5 And whoever receives one such child in My name, receives Me;

16 And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.

3 Behold, children are a *gift of the Lord,

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

27 For this boy I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my request which I asked of Him.

4 For You, Lord, have made me joyful by *what You have done,

I will sing for joy over the works of Your hands.

3 Jesus responded and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born *again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

21 Whenever a woman is in labor she has *pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a *child has been born into the world.

9 No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God.

9 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;

*Speak of all His *wonders.
