18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in this manner: When his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child by the Holy Spirit.19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, purposed to put her away secretly.20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take to thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is by the Holy Spirit. conceived: Gr. begotten21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken from the Lord by the prophet, saying,23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. they…: or, his name shall be called24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took to him his wife:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, the virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. shall call: or, thou, O virgin, shalt call

26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

30 And the angel said to her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give to him the throne of his father David:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34 Then said Mary to the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?35 And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing who shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul well knoweth right…: Heb. greatly15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and skilfully formed in the lowest parts of the earth. substance: or, strength, or, body16 Thy eyes saw my substance, not yet formed; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. all…: Heb. all of themwhich…: or, what days they should be fashioned

5 Before I formed thee in the womb I knew thee; and before thou wast born I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet to the nations. ordained: Heb. gave

9 But thou art he that brought me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts. didst…: or, kept me in safety

10 I was cast upon thee from my birth: thou art my God from my mother’s womb.

6 By thee have I been sustained from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s womb: my praise shall be continually of thee.

15 Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet I will not forget thee. that…: Heb. from having compassion

9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. not…: or, not beget?

14 But Jesus said, Permit the little children, and forbid them not, to come to me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.5 And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:

4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

3 Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. again: or, from above

21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

9 Whoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. is born: or, has been born

9 Sing to him, sing psalms to him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.
