But Jesus answered, "It is written:
‘Man shall not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’"
The devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread."
But Jesus answered, "It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’"
He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you might understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Jesus, o pão vivo
Jesus é o pão da vida que desceu do céu. Quem come deste pão viverá para sempre. Ele é o sustento que satisfaz a fome da alma.
Jesus answered, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.
I am the bread of life.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh."
Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your fathers, who ate the manna and died, the one who eats this bread will live forever."
Buscar o Reino acima de tudo
Não andeis ansiosos pelo que comer ou beber. Buscai primeiro o Reino de Deus, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.
Do Not Worry
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
And do not be concerned about what you will eat or drink. Do not worry about it. For the Gentiles of the world strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added unto you.
Meanwhile the disciples urged Him, "Rabbi, eat something."
But He told them, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about."
So the disciples asked one another, "Could someone have brought Him food?"
Jesus explained, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.
Habakkuk Rejoices
Though the fig tree does not bud
and no fruit is on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though the sheep are cut off from the fold
and no cattle are in the stalls,
yet I will exult in the LORD;
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!
GOD the Lord is my strength;
He makes my feet like those of a deer;
He makes me walk upon the heights!
