Jesus answered, "The Scriptures say:

No one can live only on food.

People need every word

that God has spoken."

The devil said to Jesus, "If you are God’s Son, tell this stone to turn into bread."

Jesus answered, "The Scriptures say, No one can live only on food."

so he made you go hungry. Then he gave you manna, a kind of food that you and your ancestors had never even heard about. The Lord was teaching you that people need more than food to livethey need every word that the Lord has spoken.

Jesus, o pão vivo

Jesus é o pão da vida que desceu do céu. Quem come deste pão viverá para sempre. Ele é o sustento que satisfaz a fome da alma.

Jesus replied:

I am the bread that gives life! No one who comes to me will ever be hungry. No one who has faith in me will ever be thirsty.

I am the bread that gives life!

I am that bread from heaven! Everyone who eats it will live forever. My flesh is the life-giving bread I give to the people of this world.

The living Father sent me, and I have life because of him. Now everyone who eats my flesh will live because of me. The bread that comes down from heaven isn’t like what your ancestors ate. They died, but whoever eats this bread will live forever.

Buscar o Reino acima de tudo

Não andeis ansiosos pelo que comer ou beber. Buscai primeiro o Reino de Deus, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.

Worry

I tell you not to worry about your life. Don’t worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn’t life more than food or clothing?

Don’t keep worrying about having something to eat or drink. Only people who don’t know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father knows what you need. But put God’s work first, and these things will be yours as well.

While this was happening, Jesus' disciples were saying to him, "Teacher, please eat something."

But Jesus told them, "I have food you don’t know anything about."

His disciples started asking each other, "Has someone brought him something to eat?"

Jesus said:

My food is to do what God wants! He is the one who sent me, and I must finish the work that he gave me to do.

Trust in a Time of Trouble

Fig trees may no longer bloom,

or vineyards produce grapes;

olive trees may be fruitless,

and harvest time a failure;

sheep pens may be empty,

and cattle stalls vacant

but I will still celebrate

because the Lord God

is my Savior.

The Lord gives me strength.

He makes my feet as sure

as those of a deer,

and he helps me stand

on the mountains.
