6 But as it is, the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to the old priesthood as the covenant he mediates is superior to the old covenant, since it has been enacted on better promises.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need to look for a second one.

13 In speaking of "a new covenant," he has made the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old will soon disappear.

22 Accordingly, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.

20 In the same way, he also took the cup after they had eaten supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

27 Then he took *the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you, 28 for this is my blood of the *new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the *eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify *your consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

15 That is why he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

16 For in the case of a will, it is necessary to establish the death of the one who made it, 17 because a will takes effect only after the person’s death; it is *never in force while the person who made it is alive. 18 That is why even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood. 19 For when Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of calves *and goats, along with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll itself and all the people, 20 saying, "This is the blood of the covenant that God has ordained for you."

1 Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the true form of those things, *the same sacrifices offered year after year can never perfect those who draw near to worship. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers would have been purified once and for all, and would no longer have any consciousness of their sins? 3 But year after year they are reminded of their sins by these sacrifices. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, *219 55.3% • 𝔐134 38.8% ¦ new things have come CT 2.5%all things have become new. 18 And all these things are from God, who reconciled us to himself through *Jesus Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s trespasses against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf: "Be reconciled to God." 21 *For God made him who did not know sin to be a sin offering for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

4 Such is the confidence that we have in God through Christ. 5 Not that we are competent in and of ourselves to claim that anything comes from us, but our competence comes from God. 6 He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

11 Therefore remember that *you, once Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "the uncircumcision" by those who call themselves "the circumcision," which is made in the flesh by hands— 12 remember that you were apart from Christ at that time, excluded from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who were once far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
