Obediência aos pais
A obediência aos pais é mandamento divino com promessa de vida longa. A Bíblia valoriza a honra filial e ensina os filhos a respeitar e obedecer aos pais com amor.
Honrar pai e mãe
O quinto mandamento ordena honrar pai e mãe. É o primeiro mandamento com promessa: para que vá bem e vivas muito na terra.
Honor your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged on the ground which your God YHWH is giving to you.
Honor your father and your mother, as your God YHWH has commanded you, so that your days are prolonged, and so that it is well with you on the ground which your God YHWH is giving to you.
For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother—let him die the death;
The children: obey your parents in the LORD, for this is right; honor your father and mother, which is the first command with a promise, "That it may be well with you, and you may live a long time on the land." And the fathers: do not provoke your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the LORD.
Obedecer e respeitar
Filhos, obedecei a vossos pais no Senhor. A obediência filial é expressão de amor e temor a Deus.
the children: obey the parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the LORD;
Hear, my son, the instruction of your father, || And do not leave the law of your mother, For they [are] a graceful wreath to your head, || And chains to your neck.
Keep, my son, the command of your father, || And do not leave the law of your mother. Bind them on your heart continually, || Tie them on your neck. In your going up and down, it leads you, || In your lying down, it watches over you, || And you have awoken—it talks [with] you. For the command [is] a lamp, || And the Law a light, || And a way of life [are] reproofs of instruction,
Hear, you sons, the instruction of a father, || And give attention to know understanding. For I have given to you good learning, do not forsake my law. For I have been a son to my father—tender, || And an only one before my mother. And he directs me, and he says to me: "Let your heart retain my words, || Keep my commands, and live. Get wisdom, get understanding, || Do not forget, nor turn away || From the sayings of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she preserves you, || Love her, and she keeps you.
A wise son—the instruction of a father, || And a scorner—he has not heard rebuke.
Give instruction to a youth about his way, || Even when he is old he does not turn from it.
Disciplina e consequências
A vara e a repreensão dão sabedoria. A Bíblia adverte sobre as consequências sérias da rebeldia e desonra aos pais.
A rod and reproof give wisdom, || And a youth let away is shaming his mother.
Whoever is spoiling a father causes a mother to flee, || A son causing shame, and bringing confusion.
An eye that mocks at a father, || And despises to obey a mother, || Ravens of the valley dig it out, || And young eagles eat it.
And he who strikes his father or his mother is certainly put to death.
When a man has a son apostatizing and being rebellious—he is not listening to the voice of his father and to the voice of his mother, and they have disciplined him, and he does not listen to them— then his father and his mother have laid hold on him, and they have brought him out to [the] elderly of his city, and to the gate of his place, and have said to [the] elderly of his city, Our son—this one—is apostatizing and being rebellious; he is not listening to our voice—a glutton and drunkard. Then all the men of his city have stoned him with stones and he has died, and you have put away the evil out of your midst, and all Israel hears and fears.
Whoever is vilifying his father and his mother, his lamp is extinguished in blackness of darkness.
if you endure discipline, God bears Himself to you as to sons, for who is a son whom a father does not discipline?
and if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety to their own house, and to give back a repayment to the parents, for this is right and acceptable before God.
