Oração
A oração é o fôlego da vida cristã. É conversa íntima com Deus, pedido de socorro, ação de graças e intercessão. Jesus ensinou seus discípulos a orar e praticou a oração constantemente.
O convite a orar
Jesus disse: pedi e recebereis, buscai e achareis, batei e abrir-se-vos-á. Deus convida seus filhos a orar com fé e persistência.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you;
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you;8 for every one that asks receives, and he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those that ask him?
22 And all things, whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
22 And all things, whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.10 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
1 And he spoke a parable unto them [to this end], that it behooves [us] always to pray and not faint,2 saying, There was in a city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man;3 and there was a widow in that city, and she came unto him, saying, Defend me from my adversary.4 And he would not for a while, but afterward he said within himself, Though I do not fear God, nor regard man,5 yet because this widow troubles me, I will do her justice, lest by her continual coming she weary me.6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says.7 And shall not God avenge his own elect who cry day and night unto him though he bears long regarding them?8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?
24 Therefore I say unto you that everything that ye ask for, praying, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come upon you.
24 Therefore I say unto you that everything that ye ask for, praying, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come upon you.
24 Therefore I say unto you that everything that ye ask for, praying, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come upon you.
Orar em nome de Jesus
Tudo o que pedirmos em nome de Jesus, Ele fará, para que o Pai seja glorificado no Filho. A oração em seu nome tem autoridade.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14 If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do [it].
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14 If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do [it].
7 If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain; that whatever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it [unto] you.
24 Until now ye have asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be fulfilled.

A oração do modelo
Jesus ensinou a oração do Pai Nosso como modelo. Ela cobre adoração, submissão, provisão, perdão, proteção e louvor.
9 Ye, therefore, are to pray like this: Our Father who art in the heavens, Hallowed be thy name.10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And set us free [from] our debts, as we set free our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father who art in the heavens, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so also in the earth.3 Give us day by day our daily bread.4 And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are], for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who sees in secret shall reward thee openly.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who sees in secret shall reward thee openly.7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions as the worldly [do], for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions as the worldly [do], for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions as the worldly [do], for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.8 Be not ye therefore like unto them, for your Father knows what things ye have need of before ye ask him.
Oração eficaz
A oração do justo é poderosa e eficaz. Ore com fé, sem duvidar, pois quem duvida é como onda do mar levada pelo vento.
16 Confess [your] faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be whole. The effectual prayer of the righteous [is] very powerful.

5 And if any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask of God (who gives abundantly to all, and without reproach), and it shall be given them.6 But ask in faith, not doubting anything. For [he] that doubts is like the wave of the sea which is driven of the wind and is tossed from one side to another.7 For let not such [a] man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.8 The double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.
6 But ask in faith, not doubting anything. For [he] that doubts is like the wave of the sea which is driven of the wind and is tossed from one side to another.

2 Ye covet and have not; ye murder, and have envy and cannot obtain; ye fight and war and have not that which ye desire because ye ask not.
8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded.

18 [Koph] The LORD [is] near unto all those that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
Confiança nas promessas
Se pedimos algo segundo a sua vontade, Ele nos ouve. A confiança na oração vem de conhecer e confiar em Deus e suas promessas.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in God, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us:
14 And this is the confidence that we have in God, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us:15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have the petitions that we asked of him.
15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have the petitions that we asked of him.
22 and whatsoever we ask, we receive of him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
16 Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of his grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.:
16 Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of his grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.:
16 Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of his grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.:
6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please God; for he that comes to God must believe that he is and [that] he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.
25 Therefore he is able also to save to the uttermost those that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.
