Orgulho

Por Bíblia Online

O orgulho é um dos pecados mais condenados na Bíblia. Deus resiste aos soberbos, mas dá graça aos humildes. A humildade é o caminho da honra verdadeira.

Deus resiste ao soberbo

A soberba precede a ruína e o orgulho antecede a queda. Deus abomina o coração altivo e promete humilhar quem se exalta.

Too much pride

will destroy you.

The Lord doesn’t like

anyone who is conceited

you can be sure

they will be punished.

Sometimes what seems right

is really a road to death.

If you respect the Lord,

you will hate evil.

I hate pride and conceit

and deceitful lies.

Too much pride

can put you to shame.

It’s wiser to be humble.

Too much pride

can put you to shame.

It’s wiser to be humble.

Too much pride brings disgrace;

humility leads to honor.

Too much pride brings disgrace;

humility leads to honor.

Pride leads to destruction;

humility leads to honor.

Pride leads to destruction;

humility leads to honor.

The Lord destroys the homes

of those who are proud,

but he protects the property

of widows.

Humildade como caminho

Humilhai-vos diante do Senhor e Ele vos exaltará. A grandeza no Reino vem pelo serviço humilde, não pela autopromoção.

In fact, God treats us with even greater kindness, just as the Scriptures say,

"God opposes everyone

who is proud,

but he blesses all who are humble

with undeserved grace."

Be humble in the Lord’s presence, and he will honor you.

Poor People and Rich People

Any of God’s people who are poor should be glad he thinks so highly of them. But any who are rich should be glad when God makes them humble. Rich people will disappear like wild flowers

All of you young people should obey your elders. In fact, everyone should be humble toward everyone else. The Scriptures say,

"God opposes proud people,

but he helps everyone

who is humble."

Be humble in the presence of God’s mighty power, and he will honor you when the time comes. God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him.

If you put yourself above others, you will be put down. But if you humble yourself, you will be honored.

Don’t be jealous or proud, but be humble and consider others more important than yourselves. Care about them as much as you care about yourselves and think the same way that Christ Jesus thought:

Os perigos do orgulho

O orgulho cega, gera contendas e afasta de Deus. A Escritura adverte contra a soberba da vida e a vã glória mundana.

Our foolish pride comes from this world, and so do our selfish desires and our desire to have everything we see. None of this comes from the Father.

Even if you think you can stand up to temptation, be careful not to fall.

What if I gave away all

that I owned

and let myself

be burned alive?

I would gain nothing,

unless I loved others.

What the world thinks is worthless, useless, and nothing at all is what God has used to destroy what the world considers important. God did all this to keep anyone from bragging to him.

The Scriptures say, "If you want to brag, then brag about the Lord." You may brag about yourself, but the only approval that counts is the Lord’s approval.

Then Jesus said:

What comes from your heart is what makes you unclean. Out of your heart come evil thoughts, vulgar deeds, stealing, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, greed, meanness, deceit, indecency, envy, insults, pride, and foolishness. All of these come from your heart, and they are what make you unfit to worship God.

Too much pride causes trouble.

Be sensible and take advice.

Respect and serve the Lord!

Your reward will be wealth,

a long life, and honor.

Warn the rich people of this world not to be proud or to trust in wealth that is easily lost. Tell them to have faith in God, who is rich and blesses us with everything we need to enjoy life.

O olhar de Deus

O Senhor não olha como o homem. Ele vê o coração e se agrada dos quebrantados de espírito e dos que tremem diante da sua Palavra.

But the Lord told him, "Samuel, don’t think Eliab is the one just because he’s tall and handsome. He isn’t the one I’ve chosen. People judge others by what they look like, but I judge people by what is in their hearts."

I can tell those proud people,

"Stop your boasting!

Nothing is hidden from the Lord,

and he judges what we do."

I have made everything;

that’s how it all came to be.

I, the Lord, have spoken.

The people I treasure most

are the humble

they depend only on me

and tremble when I speak.

That’s why I say:

"Praise and honor the King

who rules from heaven!

Everything he does

is honest and fair,

and he can shatter the power

of those who are proud."

Ahab then answered, "Benhadad, don’t brag before the fighting even begins. Wait and see if you live through it."

Be friendly with everyone. Don’t be proud and feel that you know more than others. Make friends with ordinary people.

God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.
