O orgulho é um dos pecados mais condenados na Bíblia. Deus resiste aos soberbos, mas dá graça aos humildes. A humildade é o caminho da honra verdadeira.
Deus resiste ao soberbo
A soberba precede a ruína e o orgulho antecede a queda. Deus abomina o coração altivo e promete humilhar quem se exalta.
Humildade como caminho
Humilhai-vos diante do Senhor e Ele vos exaltará. A grandeza no Reino vem pelo serviço humilde, não pela autopromoção.
Because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard one another as being better than yourselves. Let each of you look out not only for his own concerns, but also for what concerns others.

Os perigos do orgulho
O orgulho cega, gera contendas e afasta de Deus. A Escritura adverte contra a soberba da vida e a vã glória mundana.

Since Greek grammar does not have a Future Subjunctive, there were those who made sport of the Textus Receptus for reproducing a nonexistent form—usually they were partisans of the Aorist Subjunctive form, that changes the verb and is attested by only 1.5% of the manuscripts (of objectively inferior quality). We now know that the real majority form is the Future Indicative, but since it immediately follows ινα, that usually takes the Subjunctive, many scribes may have made the change virtually without thinking. The verb ‘to boast’, as in the eclectic Greek text, is totally out of place here—how can you boast with love? but have not love, it profits me nothing.
and God has chosen the lowly things of the world and the despised things—even the ‘nothings’—that He might nullify the ‘somethings’; so that no flesh should boast in God's presence.
"He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord." Because it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
He went on to say: "That which comes out of a man, that is what defiles him. Because from within, out of men's hearts, the evil designs proceed—adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetings, malignancies; deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, arrogance, foolishness— all these malignant things proceed from within and defile the man."
O olhar de Deus
