Ouvir

So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.

So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.

But how can they call to him for help if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed?

And Jesus concluded, "Listen, then, if you have ears!"

So the prophecy of Isaiah applies to them:

This people will listen and listen, but not understand;

they will look and look, but not see,

because their minds are dull,

and they have stopped up their ears

and have closed their eyes.

Otherwise, their eyes would see,

their ears would hear,

their minds would understand,

and they would turn to me, says God,

and I would heal them.

Ouvir e obedecer

Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice.

Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice.

Hearing and Doing

Remember this, my dear friends! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry.

Hearing and Doing

Remember this, my dear friends! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry. Human anger does not achieve God’s righteous purpose.

The Two House Builders

"So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.

The Two House Builders

"So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, and the wind blew hard against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock.

"But anyone who hears these words of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, the wind blew hard against that house, and it fell. And what a terrible fall that was!"

But Jesus answered, "The scripture says, Human beings cannot live on bread alone, but need every word that God speaks."

But Jesus answered, "Rather, how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it!"

But Jesus answered, "Rather, how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it!"

Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you.

Someone Saved from Death Praises God

I love the Lord, because he hears me;

he listens to my prayers.

He listens to me

every time I call to him.

In my trouble I called to the Lord;

I called to my God for help.

In his temple he heard my voice;

he listened to my cry for help.

The Lord watches over the righteous

and listens to their cries;

you hear my voice in the morning;

at sunrise I offer my prayer

and wait for your answer.

Let me hear the sounds of joy and gladness;

and though you have crushed me and broken me,

I will be happy once again.

Remind me each morning of your constant love,

for I put my trust in you.

My prayers go up to you;

show me the way I should go.

We have courage in God’s presence, because we are sure that he hears us if we ask him for anything that is according to his will.

He hears us whenever we ask him; and since we know this is true, we know also that he gives us what we ask from him.

Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.

"Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about.

The Prophet Condemns the People’s Sins

Don’t think that the Lord is too weak to save you or too deaf to hear your call for help!

Ouvir a voz de Deus

Jesus disse: 'As minhas ovelhas ouvem a minha voz.'

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

"I am telling you the truth: those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. They will not be judged, but have already passed from death to life. I am telling you the truth: the time is comingthe time has already comewhen the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear it will come to life.

Listen! I stand at the door and knock; if any hear my voice and open the door, I will come into their house and eat with them, and they will eat with me.

Listen! I stand at the door and knock; if any hear my voice and open the door, I will come into their house and eat with them, and they will eat with me.

Follow the Lord and honor him; obey him and keep his commands; worship him and be faithful to him.

Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you because you do what the Law requires or because you hear the gospel and believe it?

Sabedoria no ouvir

Listen before you answer. If you don’t, you are being stupid and insulting.

Pay attention to what you are taught, and you will be successful; trust in the Lord and you will be happy.

Warning against Adultery

Son, do what your father tells you and never forget what your mother taught you.

People who listen when they are corrected will live, but those who will not admit that they are wrong are in danger.

If you do not obey the law, God will find your prayers too hateful to hear.

It is better to have wise people reprimand you than to have stupid people sing your praises.

Everything leads to wearinessa weariness too great for words. Our eyes can never see enough to be satisfied; our ears can never hear enough.

"If you still continue to resist me and refuse to obey me, I will again increase your punishment seven times.

You must honor me by what you do. If you will not listen to what I say, then I will bring a curse on you. I will put a curse on the things you receive for your support. In fact, I have already put a curse on them, because you do not take my command seriously.

Then, when I speak to you again and give you back the power of speech, you will tell them what I, the Sovereign Lord, am saying. Some of them will listen, but some will ignore you, for they are a nation of rebels."

"The time is coming when I will send famine on the land. People will be hungry, but not for bread; they will be thirsty, but not for water. They will hunger and thirst for a message from the Lord. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken.

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Then Joshua said to the people, "Come here and listen to what the Lord your God has to say.

So then, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in broad daylight, and whatever you have whispered in private in a closed room will be shouted from the housetops.

When Someone Sins

"If your brother sins against you, go to him and show him his fault. But do it privately, just between yourselves. If he listens to you, you have won your brother back.

When Someone Sins

"If your brother sins against you, go to him and show him his fault. But do it privately, just between yourselves. If he listens to you, you have won your brother back. But if he will not listen to you, take one or two other persons with you, so that every accusation may be upheld by the testimony of two or more witnesses,as the scripture says. And if he will not listen to them, then tell the whole thing to the church. Finally, if he will not listen to the church, treat him as though he were a pagan or a tax collector.

When Jethro heard all this, he was happy

The waves of death were all around me;

the waves of destruction rolled over me.

The danger of death was around me,

and the grave set its trap for me.

In my trouble I called to the Lord;

I called to my God for help.

In his temple he heard my voice;

he listened to my cry for help.
