A relação entre pais e filhos é uma das mais preciosas na Bíblia. Deus estabeleceu a família como escola de fé, amor e formação de caráter.
Honrar pai e mãe
Honrar os pais é o primeiro mandamento com promessa. Os filhos são chamados a obedecer, respeitar e cuidar de seus pais.
Children and Parents
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing in the Lord.
But if a certain widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety to their own household and to make repayment to their parents; for this is acceptable before God.
Instruir os filhos
Os pais devem instruir os filhos no caminho certo. A educação começa cedo, com disciplina amorosa e ensino constante da Palavra.
And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline?
Filhos como bênção
Os filhos são herança do Senhor. A coroa dos velhos são os filhos dos filhos, e a glória dos filhos são seus pais.
And which father among you, if his son asks for bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, by how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
