Paixão
A Bíblia nos chama a dominar as paixões e desejos da carne. O cristão é chamado a viver pelo Espírito, crucificando as obras da carne e buscando a santidade em tudo.
Crucificar a carne
Os que são de Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões e concupiscências. O domínio próprio é fruto do Espírito Santo.
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its emotions and passions.
5 Treat the members of your earthly bodies as dead \'97 dead to unchastity, impurity, passion, evil desire, and avarice, which is idolatry.
11 Beloved, I beg you, as foreigners and resident aliens, to shun the passions of the flesh which war against the soul.

Tudo para a glória de Deus
Quer comamos, quer bebamos, tudo deve ser feito para a glória de Deus. Devemos fugir das paixões que guerreiam contra a alma.
31 Therefore, if you eat or if you drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
9 But if they lack self-control, let them marry. It is better to marry than to burn.
26 Therefore God gave them over to disgraceful passions. For their females changed the natural use for one contrary to nature,27 and their males, leaving the natural use of the female, burned in their lust for one another, males with males practicing indecency and receiving in themselves the deserved penalty of their error.
3 For there will be a time when they will not endure wholesome teaching, but following their own fancies and wishing to have their ears tickled, they will get a crowd of teachers.4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and give attention to myths.
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wickedly to waste it on your pleasures.
