O papel do homem
A Bíblia define o papel do homem na família e na sociedade: líder servidor, provedor fiel, pai presente e marido amoroso, seguindo o exemplo de Cristo.
Marido e pai
O marido deve amar a esposa como Cristo amou a Igreja. O pai é chamado a criar os filhos na disciplina e instrução do Senhor.
25 Husbands, love your own wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
4 And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
7 Husbands, likewise, live together according to knowledge as with a weaker vessel, with the wife, showing her honor as also a fellow heir of the grace of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered.
Provedor e responsável
Quem não cuida dos seus é pior que o descrente. O homem deve trabalhar com diligência e prover para sua família com honra.
8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his [own] house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat!
23 And whatever you may do, work [it] from your soul, as to the Lord and not to men,
2 It is necessary, therefore, for a bishop to be irreproachable, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, well-behaved, hospitable, skillful at teaching;3 not given to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not loving money;4 one ruling his own house well, having [his] children in submission with all reverence;
Caráter e liderança
O homem de Deus é corajoso, íntegro e cheio do Espírito. Ele lidera pelo exemplo e guia sua casa nos caminhos do Senhor.
13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be courageous, be strong.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
