O papel do homem
A Bíblia define o papel do homem na família e na sociedade: líder servidor, provedor fiel, pai presente e marido amoroso, seguindo o exemplo de Cristo.
Marido e pai
O marido deve amar a esposa como Cristo amou a Igreja. O pai é chamado a criar os filhos na disciplina e instrução do Senhor.
The husbands: love your own wives, as the Christ also loved the Assembly, and gave Himself for it,
And the fathers: do not provoke your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the LORD.
the husbands: love your wives, and do not be bitter with them;
Husbands, in like manner, dwelling with [them], according to knowledge, as to a weaker vessel—to the wife—imparting honor, as also being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers are not hindered.
Provedor e responsável
Quem não cuida dos seus é pior que o descrente. O homem deve trabalhar com diligência e prover para sua família com honra.
and if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of the household, he has denied the faith, and he is worse than an unbeliever.
for even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat,
and all, whatever you may do—out of soul work—as to the LORD, and not to men,
it is required, therefore, the overseer to be blameless, a husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, respectable, a friend of strangers, apt to teach, not given to wine, not a striker, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money, leading his own house well, having children in subjection with all dignity,
Caráter e liderança
O homem de Deus é corajoso, íntegro e cheio do Espírito. Ele lidera pelo exemplo e guia sua casa nos caminhos do Senhor.
Watch, stand in the faith; be men, be strong;
For I have known him, that he commands his children, and his house after him (and they have kept the way of YHWH), to do righteousness and judgment, that YHWH may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken concerning him."
