and the multitudes who were going before, and who were following, were crying, saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David, blessed is He who is coming in the Name of the LORD; Hosanna in the highest!"
Ah, now, O YHWH, please save, || Ah, now, O YHWH, please prosper. Blessed [is] He who is coming || In the Name of YHWH, || We blessed you from the house of YHWH,
Rejoice exceedingly, O daughter of Zion, || Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, || Behold, your King comes to you, || Righteous and having salvation, || Afflicted—and riding on a donkey, || And on a colt—a son of female donkeys.
"Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and will deliver Him to the nations to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify, and the third day He will rise again."
A paixão de Cristo
Jesus foi zombado, açoitado e crucificado. Ele orou no Getsêmani e entregou sua vida voluntariamente, dizendo: 'Está consumado!'
and having unclothed Him, they put a crimson cloak around Him, and having plaited Him a garland out of thorns they put [it] on His head, and [put] a reed in His right hand, and having kneeled before Him, they were mocking Him, saying, "Hail, the King of the Jews!"
and they put up over His head, His accusation written: "THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
and He said, "Abba, Father; all things are possible to You; make this cup pass from Me; but not what I will, but what You [will]."
and having cried with a loud voice, Jesus said, "Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit"; now having said this, He breathed His last.
when, therefore, Jesus received the vinegar, He said, "It has been accomplished." And having bowed the head, gave up the spirit.
A ressurreição gloriosa
Ele não está aqui — ressuscitou! O túmulo vazio é a prova de que a morte foi derrotada e Cristo vive para sempre.
And the messenger answering said to the women, "Do not fear, for I have known that you seek Jesus who has been crucified; He is not here, for He rose, as He said; come, see the place where the LORD was lying;
And he says to them, "Do not be amazed, you seek Jesus the Nazarene, the crucified [One]: He rose—He is not here; behold the place where they laid Him!
He is not here, but was raised; remember how He spoke to you, being yet in Galilee, saying, It is necessary for the Son of Man to be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and to rise again [on] the third day."
then, therefore, the other disciple who came first to the tomb entered also, and he saw and believed; for they did not yet know the Writing, that it was necessary for Him to rise again out of the dead.
