Escolhei hoje a quem servireis. Cada decisão molda nosso destino, e Deus nos convida a escolher o caminho da vida e da obediência.

If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Joshua then said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves the Lord, to serve Him." And they said, "We are witnesses."

"Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each one in accordance with his conduct," says the Lord God. "Repent (change your way of thinking) and turn away from all your transgressions, so that sin may not become a stumbling block to you. [Matt 3:2; Rev 2:5] Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed [against Me], and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! For why should you die, O house of Israel? [Eph 4:22, 23] For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies," says the Lord God. "Therefore, repent and live!"

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic); I wish that you were cold or hot.So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust].

Decisões e consequências

Deus retribuirá a cada um segundo as suas obras. As Escrituras nos alertam que a mornidão espiritual e a resistência ao Espírito têm consequências sérias.

He will pay back to each person according to his deeds [justly, as his deeds deserve]: [Ps 62:12; Prov 24:12] to those who by persistence in doing good seek [unseen but certain heavenly] glory, honor, and immortality, [He will give the gift of] eternal life. But for those who are selfishly ambitious and self-seeking and disobedient to the truth but responsive to wickedness, [there will be] wrath and indignation.

"You stiff-necked and stubborn people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you are always actively resisting the Holy Spirit. You are doing just as your fathers did. [Ex 33:3, 5; Num 27:14; Is 63:10; Jer 6:10; 9:26]

Do not, therefore, fling away your [fearless] confidence, for it has a glorious and great reward. For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised.

For yet in a very little while,

He who is coming will come, and will not delay.

But My righteous one [the one justified by faith] shall live by faith [respecting man’s relationship to God and trusting Him];

And if he draws back [shrinking in fear], My soul has no delight in him. [Hab 2:3, 4]

But our way is not that of those who shrink back to destruction, but [we are] of those who believe [relying on God through faith in Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by this confident faith preserve the soul.

Decisão e fé

Decida com fé, entregue seus planos ao Senhor e aja com determinação. Deus guia os passos de quem se achega a Ele de coração.

The lot is cast into the lap,

But its every decision is from the Lord.

Many plans are in a man’s mind,

But it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out). [Job 23:13; Ps 33:10, 11; Is 14:26, 27; 46:10; Acts 5:39; Heb 6:17]

Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him],

And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].

For the Lord God helps Me,

Therefore, I have not been ashamed or humiliated.

Therefore, I have made My face like flint,

And I know that I shall not be put to shame. [Luke 9:51; Is 52:13; 53:10-12]

If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know whether the teaching is of God or whether I speak on My own accord and by My own authority.

They will be My people, and I will be their God; and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may [reverently] fear Me forever, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.

And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people].
