Poder de decisão
Deus nos deu o poder de escolher. A Bíblia mostra que nossas decisões têm consequências eternas e nos chama a escolher sabiamente — a vida, a fé e o caminho de Deus.
A responsabilidade de escolher
Escolhei hoje a quem servireis. Cada decisão molda nosso destino, e Deus nos convida a escolher o caminho da vida e da obediência.
But if you don’t want to worship the Lord, then choose here and now! Will you worship the same idols your ancestors did? Or since you’re living on land that once belonged to the Amorites, maybe you’ll worship their gods. I won’t. My family and I are going to worship and obey the Lord!
Joshua said, "You have heard yourselves say that you will worship and obey the Lord. Isn’t that true?"
"Yes, it’s true," they answered.
I will judge each of you for what you’ve done. So stop sinning, or else you will certainly be punished. Give up your evil ways and start thinking pure thoughts. And be faithful to me! Do you really want to be put to death for your sins? I, the Lord God, don’t want to see that happen to anyone. So stop sinning and live!
I know everything you have done, and you are not cold or hot. I wish you were either one or the other. But since you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Decisões e consequências
Deus retribuirá a cada um segundo as suas obras. As Escrituras nos alertam que a mornidão espiritual e a resistência ao Espírito têm consequências sérias.
God will reward each of us for what we have done. He will give eternal life to everyone who has patiently done what is good in the hope of receiving glory, honor, and life that lasts forever. But he will show how angry and furious he can be with every selfish person who rejects the truth and wants to do evil.
You stubborn and hardheaded people! You are always fighting against the Holy Spirit, just as your ancestors did.
Keep on being brave! It will bring you great rewards. Learn to be patient, so you will please God and be given what he has promised. As the Scriptures say,
"God is coming soon!
It won’t be very long.
The people God accepts
will live because
of their faith.
But he isn’t pleased
with anyone
who turns back."
We are not like those people who turn back and get destroyed. We will keep on having faith until we are saved.
Decisão e fé
Decida com fé, entregue seus planos ao Senhor e aja com determinação. Deus guia os passos de quem se achega a Ele de coração.
We make our own decisions,
but the Lord alone
determines what happens.
We may make a lot of plans,
but the Lord will do
what he has decided.
Share your plans with the Lord,
and you will succeed.
But the Lord God keeps me
from being disgraced.
So I refuse to give up,
because I know
God will never let me down.
If you really want to obey God, you will know if what I teach comes from God or from me.
They will be my people, and I will be their God. I will make their thoughts and desires pure. Then they will realize that, for their own good and the good of their children, they must worship only me. They will even be afraid to turn away from me. I will make an agreement with them that will never end, and I won’t ever stop doing good things for them. With all my heart I promise that they will be planted in this land once again.
Peter said to them, "Turn to God and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Surrender to God! Resist the devil, and he will run from you. Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you people who can’t make up your mind.
