Intercessão na Bíblia: o que é e exemplos práticos

O que é intercessão na Bíblia

Interceder na Bíblia é colocar-se diante de Deus em favor de outra pessoa. É levar a Deus as necessidades de quem precisa de socorro, perdão, cura ou direção, agindo como ponte em oração.

Em vez de focar apenas nos próprios pedidos, quem intercede assume a causa do próximo, confiando na misericórdia e na justiça do Senhor para intervir naquela situação.

Jesus como modelo de intercessor

Jesus Cristo é o padrão definitivo da intercessão. Antes de ir para a cruz, Ele dedicou uma oração inteira aos Seus seguidores em João 17, pedindo ao Pai que os guardasse do mal e orando inclusive por aqueles que ainda creriam por meio da pregação apostólica.

These words spoke Yeshua [God is Salvation], and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify youri Son, that youri Son also may glorify youi:

As youi have given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as youi have given him.

And this is life eternal, that they might know youi the only true God-The Father, and Yeshua [God is Salvation] Moshiach [Messiah], whom youi have sent.

I have glorified youi on the earth: I have finished the work which youi gave me to do.

And now, O Father, glorify youi me with youri own self with the glory which I had with youi before the world was.

I have manifested youri name unto the men which youi gave me out of the world: yoursi they were, and youi gave them me; and they have kept youri word.

Now they have known that all things whatsoever youi have given me are of youi.

For I have given unto them the words which youi gave me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from youi, and they have believed that youi did send me.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which youi have given me; for they are yoursi.

And all mine are yoursi, and yoursi are mine; and I am glorified in them.

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to youi. Holy Father, keep through youri own name those whom youi have given me, that they may be one, as we [are].

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in youri name: those that youi gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

And now come I to youi; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

I have given them youri word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

I pray not that youi should take them out of the world, but that youi should keep them from the evil.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Sanctify (make holy; set apart for God’s use) them through youri truth: youri word is truth.

As youi have sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

And for their sakes I sanctify (make holy; set apart for God’s use) myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

That they all may be one; as youi, Father, [are] in me, and I in youi, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that youi have sent me.

And the glory which youi gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

I in them, and youi in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that youi have sent me, and have loved them, as youi have loved me.

Father, I will that they also, whom youi have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which youi have given me: for youi loved me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, the world has not known youi: but I have known youi, and these have known that youi have sent me.

And I have declared unto them youri name, and will declare [it]: that the love which youi have loved me may be in them, and I in them.(John 17)

A Bíblia também ensina que esse ministério de Cristo continua ativo hoje: ressuscitado e à direita do Pai, Ele segue intercedendo pelo Seu povo.

Por que orar uns pelos outros

A intercessão é um mandamento prático de cuidado mútuo. Em Tiago 5:16, a Escritura orienta os cristãos a confessarem suas culpas e orarem uns pelos outros para serem curados, destacando a eficácia da oração feita com sinceridade e fé.

Orar por outras pessoas afasta o egoísmo, fortalece os laços da comunidade e alinha a vontade de quem ora com o amor demonstrado por Deus.

Versículos sobre intercessão

  • 1 Timóteo 2:1: orienta que se façam súplicas, orações, intercessões e ações de graças por todas as pessoas.

  • Romanos 8:34: afirma a vitória do cristão com base no sacrifício e na intercessão contínua de Cristo diante de Deus.

  • Efésios 6:18: exorta a orar em todo o tempo no Espírito, com vigilância e perseverança, em favor de todo o povo de Deus.
