O poder de Deus opera nos que creem. A Bíblia revela que o cristão recebe poder do alto para viver, servir e vencer — não por força própria, mas pelo Espírito de Deus.
Poder do Espírito Santo
Jesus prometeu que seus seguidores receberiam poder ao descer sobre eles o Espírito Santo. Esse poder capacita para testemunho e serviço.
"But you will be given power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest places on earth."
God didn’t give us a spirit that makes us fearful, but a spirit of power and love and good sense.
Yes, I have given you power to tread on snakes and scorpions, and to overcome all the enemy’s strength, and nothing will harm you.
Poder na Palavra e na fé
A Palavra de Deus é viva e eficaz, mais cortante que espada de dois gumes. O poder não está em palavras, mas na demonstração do Espírito.
For God’s word is alive and effective, sharper than any twin-edged sword, so penetrating it separates life and breath, bone joints and their marrow, judging the thoughts and intentions of the mind.
For the kingdom of God is not about mere words, but about power.
The following signs will accompany those who trust in me: in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak new languages; they will be able to handle snakes; if they drink something poisonous they won’t be harmed; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be healed."
I tell you the truth, anyone who trusts in me will do the same things I am doing. In fact they will do even greater things because I am going to the Father.
Fortalecidos pelo Senhor
Tudo posso naquele que me fortalece. O cristão encontra poder não em si mesmo, mas na força do Senhor e na sua armadura espiritual.
I can do anything through him who makes me strong!
Lastly, stay strong in the Lord, and in his mighty power.
May you be made powerfully strong by his wonderful strength, having great patience and endurance.
So place yourself under God’s direction. Confront the devil, and he will run away from you.
Jesus woke up. He told the wind to die down and told the waves, "Be quiet! Be still." The wind stopped, and the water became completely calm. "Why are you so frightened? Haven’t you learned to trust me?" he asked them.
They were stunned and terrified. They asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
