Poder
O poder de Deus opera nos que creem. A Bíblia revela que o cristão recebe poder do alto para viver, servir e vencer — não por força própria, mas pelo Espírito de Deus.
Poder do Espírito Santo
Jesus prometeu que seus seguidores receberiam poder ao descer sobre eles o Espírito Santo. Esse poder capacita para testemunho e serviço.
8 But you shall receive power by the Holy Spirit coming upon you, and shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and even to the remotest parts of the earth.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice; but of power, and of love, and of self-government.
19 Lo! I empowered you to turn on serpents, and scorpions, and all the might of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Poder na Palavra e na fé
A Palavra de Deus é viva e eficaz, mais cortante que espada de dois gumes. O poder não está em palavras, mas na demonstração do Espírito.
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and purposes of the heart.
20 For the Reign of God is not in word, but in power.
17 And these miraculous powers shall attend the believers:- In my name they shall expel demons. They shall speak in languages unknown to them before.18 They shall handle serpents with safety. And if they drink poison, it shall not hurt them. They shall cure the sick by laying their hands upon them.
12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes on me, shall himself do such works as I do; nay, even greater than these shall he do; because I go to my Father,
Fortalecidos pelo Senhor
Tudo posso naquele que me fortalece. O cristão encontra poder não em si mesmo, mas na força do Senhor e na sua armadura espiritual.
13 I can do all things, through him who strengthens me.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 being strengthened with all strength, according to his glorious power, to all patience and long-suffering with joy:
7 Therefore, be subject to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
39 And he arose, and commanded the wind, saying to the sea, Peace! be still! Immediately the wind ceased, and great calm ensued.40 And he said to them, Why are you so timorous? How is it that you have no faith?41 And they were exceedingly terrified, and said one to another, Who is this, whom even the wind and the sea obey?
