Gravidez e maternidade são bênçãos celebradas na Bíblia. Deus forma cada criança no ventre, cuida da mãe e da família, e abençoa a geração dos justos.
Filhos são herança do Senhor
Deus abençoa a fertilidade e o crescimento das famílias. Cada criança é obra de suas mãos, conhecida e amada antes mesmo de nascer.
No people in the world will be as richly blessed as you. None of you nor any of your livestock will be sterile.
but their descendants, the Israelites, had many children and became so numerous and strong that Egypt was filled with them.
The good man’s children will be powerful in the land;
his descendants will be blessed.
You created every part of me;
you put me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because you are to be feared;
all you do is strange and wonderful.
I know it with all my heart.
When my bones were being formed,
carefully put together in my mother’s womb,
when I was growing there in secret,
you knew that I was there—
you saw me before I was born.
The days allotted to me
had all been recorded in your book,
before any of them ever began.
Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a real blessing.
Do not think that I will bring my people to the point of birth and not let them be born." The Lord has spoken.
Força e cuidado na gravidez
Deus dá forças à mulher grávida e a sustenta em cada etapa. Sua graça é suficiente e seu poder se aperfeiçoa na fraqueza.
I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.
But his answer was: "My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak." I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ’s power over me.
Hear me! Save me now!
Be my refuge to protect me;
my defense to save me.
In despair and far from home
I call to you!
Take me to a safe refuge,
He will take care of his flock like a shepherd;
he will gather the lambs together
and carry them in his arms;
he will gently lead their mothers.
"Listen to me, descendants of Jacob,
all who are left of my people.
I have cared for you from the time you were born.
I am your God and will take care of you
until you are old and your hair is gray.
I made you and will care for you;
I will give you help and rescue you.
A bênção da maternidade
A Bíblia honra a maternidade como ministério sagrado. As mães são instrumentos de Deus para formar vidas e transmitir a fé.
But a woman will be saved through having children, if she perseveres in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.
Her children show their appreciation, and her husband praises her.
Then Adam had intercourse with his wife, and she became pregnant. She bore a son and said, "By the Lord's help I have gotten a son." So she named him Cain.
The Lord blessed Sarah, as he had promised, and she became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham when he was old. The boy was born at the time God had said he would be born.
Because Rebecca had no children, Isaac prayed to the Lord for her. The Lord answered his prayer, and Rebecca became pregnant.
So it was that she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, and explained, "I asked the Lord for him."
Proteção divina
Deus protege a mãe e o bebê, guardando-os de todo mal. Ele acompanha cada momento com ternura e fidelidade.
Whoever goes to the Lord for safety,
whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty,
can say to him,
"You are my defender and protector.
You are my God; in you I trust."
The Lord will protect you from all danger;
he will keep you safe.
He will protect you as you come and go
now and forever.
"I chose you before I gave you life, and before you were born I selected you to be a prophet to the nations."
"If some men are fighting and hurt a pregnant woman so that she loses her child, but she is not injured in any other way, the one who hurt her is to be fined whatever amount the woman’s husband demands, subject to the approval of the judges. But if the woman herself is injured, the punishment shall be life for life,
So the Lord answers,
"Can a woman forget her own baby
and not love the child she bore?
Even if a mother should forget her child,
I will never forget you.
Esperança e promessa
A maternidade é caminho de esperança. Como Sara, Ana e Isabel, as mães encontram na fé a força para aguardar as promessas de Deus.
It was faith that made Abraham able to become a father, even though he was too old and Sarah herself could not have children. He trusted God to keep his promise.
How happy you are to believe that the Lord’s message to you will come true!"
Mary said,
"My heart praises the Lord;
my soul is glad because of God my Savior,
for he has remembered me, his lowly servant!
From now on all people will call me happy,
because of the great things the Mighty God has done for me.
His name is holy;
He honors the childless wife in her home;
he makes her happy by giving her children.
Praise the Lord!
I will bless her, and I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will become the mother of nations, and there will be kings among her descendants."
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in your home,
and your children will be like young olive trees around your table.
