Proximidade
Trust the Lord
and his mighty power.
Trust the Lord
and his mighty power.
Worship him always.
Turn to the Lord!
He can still be found.
Call out to God! He is near.
I ask only one thing, Lord:
Let me live in your house
every day of my life
to see how wonderful you are
and to pray in your temple.
One day in your temple
is better than a thousand
anywhere else.
I would rather serve
in your house,
than live in the homes
of the wicked.
You have shown me
the path to life,
and you make me glad
by being near to me.
Sitting at your right side,
I will always be joyful.
Deus está perto
O Senhor está perto dos que o invocam, dos quebrantados de coração e dos que clamam por socorro. Sua presença nos sustenta.
When his people pray for help,
he listens and rescues them
from their troubles.
The Lord is there to rescue
all
who are discouraged
and have given up hope.
Always be gentle with others. The Lord will soon be here.
and you were far from God. But Christ offered his life’s blood as a sacrifice and brought you near God.
Your kindness and love
will always be with me
each day of my life,
and I will live forever
in your house, Lord.
A presença que nunca abandona
Deus promete nunca nos deixar. Ele permanece fiel, está conosco em todo tempo e envia o Espírito para habitar em nossos corações.
I won’t leave you like orphans. I will come back to you.
The Lord our God was with our ancestors to help them, and I pray that he will be with us and never abandon us.
But you are merciful and kind,
and so you never forgot them
or let them be destroyed.
I pray that the Lord, who gives peace, will always bless you with peace. May the Lord be with all of you.
Goodbye, my friends. Do better and pay attention to what I have said. Try to get along and live peacefully with each other.
Now I pray that God, who gives love and peace, will be with you.
God has given us his Spirit. This is how we know we are one with him, just as he is one with us.
No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is truly God and is closest to the Father, has shown us what God is like.
Moses stayed on the mountain with the Lord for 40 days and nights, without eating or drinking. And he wrote down the Ten Commandments, the most important part of God’s agreement with his people.
Heal their sick and say, "God’s kingdom will soon be here!"
Some time later, God spoke to Azariah son of Oded. At once, Azariah went to Asa and said:
Listen to me, King Asa and you people of Judah and Benjamin. The Lord will be with you and help you, as long as you obey and worship him. But if you disobey him, he will desert you.
For a long time, the people of Israel did not worship the true God or listen to priests who could teach them about God. They refused to obey God’s Law. But whenever trouble came, Israel turned back to the Lord their God and worshiped him.
There was so much confusion in those days that it wasn’t safe to go anywhere in Israel. Nations were destroying each other, and cities were wiping out other cities, because God was causing trouble and unrest everywhere.
So you must be brave. Don’t give up! God will honor you for obeying him.
As soon as Asa heard what Azariah the prophet said, he gave orders for all the idols in Judah and Benjamin to be destroyed, including those in the towns he had captured in the territory of Ephraim. He also repaired the Lord's altar that was in front of the temple porch.
Asa called together the people from Judah and Benjamin, as well as the people from the territories of Ephraim, West Manasseh, and Simeon who were living in Judah. Many of these people were now loyal to Asa, because they had seen that the Lord was with him.
In the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s rule, they all met in Jerusalem. That same day, they took 700 bulls and 7,000 sheep and goats from what they had brought back from Gerar and sacrificed them as offerings to the Lord. They made a solemn promise to faithfully worship the Lord God their ancestors had worshiped, and to put to death anyone who refused to obey him. The crowd solemnly agreed to keep their promise to the Lord, then they celebrated by shouting and blowing trumpets and horns. Everyone was happy because they had made this solemn promise, and in return, the Lord blessed them with peace from all their enemies.
Asa’s grandmother Maacah had made a disgusting idol of the goddess Asherah, so he cut it down, crushed it, and burned it in Kidron Valley. Then he removed Maacah from her position as queen mother. As long as Asa lived, he was faithful to the Lord, even though he did not destroy the local shrines in Israel. He placed in the temple all the silver and gold objects that he and his father had dedicated to God.
There was peace in Judah until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s rule.
