6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

12 Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown  * of life that God  * has promised to those who love him.  *

5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God — who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly — and it will be given to him.  *

29 But from there, you will search for the Lord your God, and you will find him when you seek him with all your heart and all your soul.  *

Ask, Search, Knock

7 "Ask,*and it will be given to you.*Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door*will be opened to you.

24 Therefore I tell you, everything you pray*and ask for*— believe that you have received*,*it and it will be yours.

21 "His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Share your master’s joy.’*

23 Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people,  *24 knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.

58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work,  * because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

9 Let us not get tired  * of doing good,  * for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.

30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.*

6 He will repay each one according to his works:  *,*

38 Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure — pressed down, shaken together, and running over — will be poured into your lap.*For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."*

33 If you do what is good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.

8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy,*drive out demons.*Freely you received, freely give.

8 And God is able  * to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.

18 The wicked person earns an empty wage,

but the one who sows righteousness, a true reward.  *

4 Humility, the fear of the  Lord,

results in wealth, honor, and life.  *

3 Never let loyalty and faithfulness leave you.

Tie them around your neck;

write them on the tablet of your heart.  *

4 Then you will find favor and high regard

with God and people.  *

16 A person’s gift opens doors  * for him

and brings him before the great.  *

9 But as it is written,

What no eye has seen, no ear has heard,

and no human heart has conceived —

God has prepared these things for those who love him.*,*

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope  * of his calling,  * what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

Growth in the Faith

3 His  * divine power  * has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge  * of him who called  * us by  * his own glory and goodness.

5 This hope will not disappoint us,  * because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts  * through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

32 He did not even spare his own Son  * but gave him up for us all.  * How will he not also with him grant us everything?

14 But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again.*In fact, the water I will give him will become a well*,*of water springing up in him for eternal life."*

24 Until now you have asked for nothing in my name.*Ask and you will receive,*so that your joy may be complete.*

7 Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth.*It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.*

14 I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly  * call in Christ Jesus.  *

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,*

for they will be filled.

2 So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward.*

6 But when you pray, go into your private room, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.*,*

14 Pursue good and not evil

so that you may live,

and the Lord, the God of Armies,

will be with you

as you have claimed.  *

6 I spread out my hands to you;

I am like parched land before you.  *Selah

12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and enjoy the  * good life. 13 It is also the gift of God whenever anyone eats, drinks, and enjoys all his efforts.  *

18 Here is what I have seen to be good:  * It is appropriate to eat, drink, and experience good in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of his life God has given him, because that is his reward.  *

19 Furthermore, everyone to whom God has given riches and wealth,  * he has also allowed him to enjoy them, take his reward, and rejoice in his labor.  * This is a gift of God,  *

33 Follow the whole instruction the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live, prosper, and have a long life in the land you will possess.

16 Therefore we do not give up.  * Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person  * is being renewed day by day.

Conclusion

6 Humble  * yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand  * of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time,

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  *

27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you. Instead, his anointing teaches you about all things  * and is true and is not a lie; just as it has taught you,  * remain in him.  *

32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit  * whom God has given to those who obey him."

12 The Lord said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain and stay there so that I may give you the stone tablets  * with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction."
