Freedom of the Christian

1 For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm,  * then, and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.  *

Messiah’s Jubilee

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is on me,  *

because the Lord has anointed me

to bring good news to the poor.  *

He has sent me to heal  * the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives

and freedom to the prisoners;  *

The Life-Giving Spirit

1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation  * for those in  * Christ Jesus,  *,*2 because the law  * of the Spirit of life  * in Christ Jesus has set you  * free from the law  * of sin and death.  *

22 I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud,  *

and your sins like a mist.

Return to me,  *

for I have redeemed you.  *

21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus,  * because he will save his people from their sins."  *

14 He gave himself for us  * to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession,  * eager to do good works.

22 But now, since you have been set free from sin and have become enslaved to God,  * you have your fruit, which results in sanctification  *  — and the outcome is eternal life!  *

Praise for Deliverance

1 I love you, Lord, my strength.

2 The Lord is my rock,

my fortress, and my deliverer,  *

my God, my rock where I seek refuge,

my shield  * and the horn of my salvation,  *

my stronghold.

A Plea for Protection

1 Lord, I seek refuge in you;

let me never be disgraced.  *

Save me by your righteousness.

15 The course of my life is in your power;  *

rescue me from the power of my enemies

and from my persecutors.  *

17 The righteous  * cry out, and the  Lord  hears,

and rescues them from all their troubles.  *

18 The Lord is near the brokenhearted;

he saves those crushed in spirit.  *

19 One who is righteous has many adversities,

but the Lord rescues him from them all.  *

9 God of our salvation, help us,  *

for the glory of your name.

Rescue us and atone for our sins,

for your name’s sake.  *

23 My lips will shout for joy

when I sing praise to you

because you have redeemed me.  *

10 You who love the  Lord, hate evil!  *

He protects the lives of his faithful ones;  *

he rescues them from the power of the wicked.  *

2 "Lord, rescue me from lying lips

and a deceitful tongue."  *

10 I rejoice greatly in the  Lord,

I exult in my God;

for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation

and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness,  *

as a groom wears a turban

and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.  *

17 The Lord your God is among you,

a warrior  * who saves.

He will rejoice over you  * with gladness.

He will be quiet  * in his love.

He will delight in you with singing."  *
