A relação entre Jesus e Pedro é uma das mais profundas e significativas do Novo Testamento. Pedro, originalmente um pescador chamado Simão, foi escolhido por Jesus para ser um dos seus discípulos mais próximos e líder entre os apóstolos.

1. Chamado à liderança com humildade

Peter was grieved that He said to him the third time, "Do you cherish Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You have known all things; You know that I cherish You." Jesus says to him, "Feed My sheep;
2. Fé que supera as dúvidas
Apesar de momentos de medo e dúvidas, como quando tentou andar sobre as águas, Pedro foi ensinado a confiar plenamente em Jesus (Mateus 14:28-31).
And Peter answering Him said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the waters"; and He said, "Come"; and having gone down from the boat, Peter walked on the waters to come to Jesus, but seeing the vehement wind, he was afraid, and having begun to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" And immediately Jesus, having stretched forth the hand, laid hold of him and says to him, "Little faith! For why did you waver?"
3. Arrependimento e perdão
Quando negou Jesus três vezes, Pedro experimentou o perdão divino, aprendendo que o amor de Deus restaura e renova mesmo após falhas (Lucas 22:54-62).
And having taken Him, they led and brought Him into the house of the chief priest. And Peter was following far off, and they having kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and having sat down together, Peter was sitting in the midst of them, and a certain maid having seen him sitting at the light, and having earnestly looked at him, she said, "And this one was with Him!" And he disowned Him, saying, "Woman, I have not known Him." And after a while, another having seen him, said, "And you are of them!" And Peter said, "Man, I am not." And one hour, as it were, having intervened, a certain other was confidently affirming, saying, "Of a truth this one also was with Him, for he is also a Galilean"; and Peter said, "Man, I have not known what you say"; and immediately, while he is speaking, a rooster crowed. And the LORD, having turned, looked on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the LORD, how He said to him, "Before a rooster will crow, you may disown Me three times"; and Peter having gone outside, wept bitterly.
4. Coragem para testemunhar
Após a ressurreição, Pedro tornou-se um pregador corajoso do Evangelho, mostrando que Jesus o fortaleceu para cumprir sua missão (Atos 2).
