Deus criou o descanso como parte da vida. O sábado, o repouso e até as férias refletem a confiança de que Deus sustenta todas as coisas — mesmo quando paramos.

O descanso como ordenança

Deus descansou no sétimo dia e nos convidou a fazer o mesmo. O descanso sabático é um presente de Deus para restauração do corpo e da alma.

9 As it is, however, there still remains for God’s people a rest like God’s resting on the seventh day. 10 For those who receive that rest which God promised will rest from their own work, just as God rested from his.

The Reward for Keeping the Sabbath

13 The Lord says, "If you treat the Sabbath as sacred and do not pursue your own interests on that day; if you value my holy day and honor it by not traveling, working, or talking idly on that day, 14 then you will find the joy that comes from serving me. I will make you honored all over the world, and you will enjoy the land I gave to your ancestor, Jacob. I, the Lord, have spoken."

Sono e paz

Ditar-se em paz e dormir tranquilamente é bênção do Senhor. Quem confia nele dorme sem medo e acorda renovado.

8 When I lie down, I go to sleep in peace;
