Repouso e férias
Deus criou o descanso como parte da vida. O sábado, o repouso e até as férias refletem a confiança de que Deus sustenta todas as coisas — mesmo quando paramos.
O descanso como ordenança
Deus descansou no sétimo dia e nos convidou a fazer o mesmo. O descanso sabático é um presente de Deus para restauração do corpo e da alma.
there remains, then, a Sabbath rest to the people of God, for he who entered into His rest, he also rested from his works, as God from His own.
If you turn your foot from the Sabbath, || [From] doing your own pleasure on My holy day, || And have cried to the Sabbath, A delight, || To the holy of YHWH, Honored, || And have honored it, without doing your own ways, || Without finding your own pleasure, || And speaking a word. Then you delight yourself on YHWH, || And I have caused you to ride on high places of earth, || And have caused you to eat the inheritance of your father Jacob, || For the mouth of YHWH has spoken!"
Whether, then, you eat, or drink, or do anything, do all to the glory of God;
Sono e paz
Ditar-se em paz e dormir tranquilamente é bênção do Senhor. Quem confia nele dorme sem medo e acorda renovado.
Together I lie down and sleep in peace, || For You, O YHWH, alone, || Cause me to dwell in confidence!
I have lain down, and I sleep, || I have awoken, for YHWH sustains me.
Vain for you who are rising early, || Who delay sitting, eating the bread of griefs, || So He gives sleep to His beloved one.
You are not afraid of fear by night, || Of arrow that flies by day,
If you lie down, you are not afraid, || Indeed, you have lain down, || And your sleep has been sweet.
Sweet [is] the sleep of the laborer whether he eat little or much; and the sufficiency of the wealthy is not permitting him to sleep.
Descanso e segurança
No repouso, encontramos segurança. Deus guarda os justos, e mesmo no silêncio da noite, sua paz nos protege e restaura.
And you have trusted because there is hope, || And searched—in confidence you lie down, And you have rested, || And none is causing trembling, || And many have begged [at] your face;
He enters into peace, they rest on their beds, || [Each] is going straightforward.
