Repouso e férias
Deus criou o descanso como parte da vida. O sábado, o repouso e até as férias refletem a confiança de que Deus sustenta todas as coisas — mesmo quando paramos.
O descanso como ordenança
Deus descansou no sétimo dia e nos convidou a fazer o mesmo. O descanso sabático é um presente de Deus para restauração do corpo e da alma.
If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, so as not to do thy pleasure on the holy days, and shalt call the Sabbaths delightful, holy to God; if thou shalt not lift up thy foot to work, nor speak a word in anger out of thy mouth, then shalt thou trust on the Lord; and he shall bring thee up to the good places of the land, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken this.
Sono e paz
Ditar-se em paz e dormir tranquilamente é bênção do Senhor. Quem confia nele dorme sem medo e acorda renovado.
Thou hast put gladness into my heart:
They have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.
I cried to the Lord with my voice,
And he heard me out of his holy mountain. Pause.
Thou shalt eat the labors of thy hands:
Blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee.
For thou, O Lord, hast made me glad with thy work:
And in the operations of thy hands will I exult.
For if thou rest, thou shalt be undismayed;
And if thou sleep, thou shalt slumber sweetly.
There is an infirmity which I have seen under the sun,
Namely, wealth kept for its owner to his hurt.
Descanso e segurança
No repouso, encontramos segurança. Deus guarda os justos, e mesmo no silêncio da noite, sua paz nos protege e restaura.
And thou shalt be confident, because thou hast hope;
And peace shall dawn to thee from out of anxiety and care.
For thou shalt be at ease, and there shall be no one to fight against thee;
And many shall charge, and make supplication to thee.
His burial shall be in peace: he has been removed out of the way.
