Repouso e férias
Deus criou o descanso como parte da vida. O sábado, o repouso e até as férias refletem a confiança de que Deus sustenta todas as coisas — mesmo quando paramos.
O descanso como ordenança
Deus descansou no sétimo dia e nos convidou a fazer o mesmo. O descanso sabático é um presente de Deus para restauração do corpo e da alma.
9 There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.10 For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
13 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of the Lord honorable; and shall honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words:14 then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth; and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father:" for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.
31 Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Sono e paz
Ditar-se em paz e dormir tranquilamente é bênção do Senhor. Quem confia nele dorme sem medo e acorda renovado.
8 In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep,for you, the Lord alone, make me live in safety.
5 I laid myself down and slept.I awakened; for the Lord sustains me.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early,to stay up late,eating the bread of toil;for he gives sleep to his loved ones.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,nor of the arrow that flies by day;
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid.Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
12 The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not allow him to sleep.
Descanso e segurança
No repouso, encontramos segurança. Deus guarda os justos, e mesmo no silêncio da noite, sua paz nos protege e restaura.
18 You shall be secure, because there is hope.Yes, you shall search, and shall take your rest in safety.19 Also you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid.Yes, many shall court your favor.
2 He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.
