The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge,

but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.(Proverbs 1:7)

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.

The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.(Proverbs 9:10)

The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom.

Before honor is humility.(Proverbs 15:33)

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.

All those who do his work have a good understanding.

His praise endures forever!(Psalms 111:10)

"But where will wisdom be found?

Where is the place of understanding?

Man doesn’t know its price,

and it isn’t found in the land of the living.

The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’

The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’

It can’t be gotten for gold,

neither will silver be weighed for its price.

It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir,

with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

Gold and glass can’t equal it,

neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

No mention will be made of coral or of crystal.

Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.

The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it.

It won’t be valued with pure gold.

Where then does wisdom come from?

Where is the place of understanding?

Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living,

and kept close from the birds of the sky.

Destruction and Death say,

‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’(Job 28:12-22)

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.(James 1:5)

yes, if you call out for discernment,

and lift up your voice for understanding;

then you will understand the fear of Yahweh,

and find the knowledge of God." (Elohim).(Proverbs 2:3,5)

For Yahweh gives wisdom.

Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.(Proverbs 2:6)

Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.(Daniel 1:17)

Daniel answered,

"Blessed be the name of God forever and ever;

for wisdom and might are his.(Daniel 2:20)

I thank you and praise you,

O God of my fathers,

who have given me wisdom and might,

and have now made known to me what we desired of you;

for you have made known to us the king’s matter."(Daniel 2:23)

A sabedoria divina e a sabedoria humana

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.(James 3:13)

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.(James 3:17)

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God; because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.(1 Corinthians 1:23-25)

We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown, yet a wisdom not of this world nor of the rulers of this world who are coming to nothing. But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,(1 Corinthians 2:6,7)

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool that he may become wise.(1 Corinthians 3:18)

that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.(Colossians 2:2,3)

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,

and don’t lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make your paths straight.(Proverbs 3:5,6)

Don’t be wise in your own eyes.

Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil.(Proverbs 3:7)

Show me your ways, Yahweh.

Teach me your paths.

Guide me in your truth, and teach me,

for you are the God of my salvation.

I wait for you all day long.(Psalms 25:4,5)

He will guide the humble in justice.

He will teach the humble his way.(Psalms 25:9)

Teach me your way, Yahweh.

Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.(Psalms 27:11)

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go.

I will counsel you with my eye on you.(Psalms 32:8)

A man’s steps are established by Yahweh.

He delights in his way.(Psalms 37:23)

Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning,

for I trust in you.

Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,

for I lift up my soul to you.(Psalms 143:8)

Teach me to do your will,

for you are my God.

Your Spirit is good.

Lead me in the land of uprightness.

Revive me, Yahweh, for your name’s sake.

In your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble.(Psalms 143:10,11)

Open my eyes,

that I may see wondrous things out of your law.(Psalms 119:18)

The entrance of your words gives light.

It gives understanding to the simple.(Psalms 119:130)

Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stand on the path of sinners,

nor sit in the seat of scoffers;

but his delight is in Yahweh’s law.

On his law he meditates day and night.(Psalms 1:1,2)

When you walk, it will lead you.

When you sleep, it will watch over you.

When you awake, it will talk with you.(Proverbs 6:22)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.(Colossians 3:16)

Sabedoria prática no dia a dia

Quem cultiva a prudência aprende a frear a impulsividade e a valorizar o conselho maduro.

Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.(Ephesians 5:15,16)

that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning;

that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;(Proverbs 1:5)

The wise in heart accept commandments,

but a chattering fool will fall.(Proverbs 10:8)

When pride comes, then comes shame,

but with humility comes wisdom.(Proverbs 11:2)

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,

but he who is wise listens to counsel.(Proverbs 12:15)

He who guards his mouth guards his soul.

One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.(Proverbs 13:3)

Pride only breeds quarrels,

but wisdom is with people who take advice.(Proverbs 13:10)

He who is slow to anger has great understanding,

but he who has a quick temper displays folly.(Proverbs 14:29)

Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise.

When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.(Proverbs 17:28)

A fool has no delight in understanding,

but only in revealing his own opinion.(Proverbs 18:2)

The heart of the discerning gets knowledge.

The ear of the wise seeks knowledge.(Proverbs 18:15)

He who gets wisdom loves his own soul.

He who keeps understanding shall find good.(Proverbs 19:8)

Listen to counsel and receive instruction,

that you may be wise in your latter end.(Proverbs 19:20)

Plans are established by advice;

by wise guidance you wage war!(Proverbs 20:18)

for by wise guidance you wage your war,

and victory is in many advisors.(Proverbs 24:6)

And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.(Colossians 3:23,24)

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.(Colossians 4:5,6)

Happy is the man who finds wisdom,

the man who gets understanding.(Proverbs 3:13)

For whoever finds me finds life,

and will obtain favor from Yahweh.(Proverbs 8:35)

The plans of the heart belong to man,

but the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh.(Proverbs 16:1)

A man’s heart plans his course,

but Yahweh directs his steps.(Proverbs 16:9)

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!

Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.(Proverbs 16:16)

For to the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who pleases God. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.(Ecclesiastes 2:26)

For wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.(Ecclesiastes 7:12)

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going.(Ecclesiastes 9:10)

A sabedoria soberana do Criador

Haven’t you known?

Haven’t you heard?

The everlasting God, Yahweh,

the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint.

He isn’t weary.

His understanding is unsearchable.(Isaiah 40:28)

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

and your ways are not my ways," says Yahweh.(Isaiah 55:8)

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways,

and my thoughts than your thoughts.(Isaiah 55:9)

Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!(Romans 11:33)

So teach us to count our days,

that we may gain a heart of wisdom.(Psalms 90:12)

He has shown you, O man, what is good.

What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly,

to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?(Micah 6:8)

"Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matthew 7:24)
