Sacrifício
O sacrifício é o coração do evangelho.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served; he came to serve and to give his life to redeem many people."
like the Son of Man, who did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life to redeem many people."
"Listen," he told them, "we are going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the teachers of the Law. They will condemn him to death and then hand him over to the Gentiles, who will make fun of him, whip him, and crucify him; but three days later he will be raised to life."
They stripped off his clothes and put a scarlet robe on him. Then they made a crown out of thorny branches and placed it on his head, and put a stick in his right hand; then they knelt before him and made fun of him. "Long live the King of the Jews!" they said.
Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Father! In your hands I place my spirit!" He said this and died.
The greatest love you can have for your friends is to give your life for them.
For when we were still helpless, Christ died for the wicked at the time that God chose.
O cordeiro sem defeito
Cristo nos resgatou com seu sangue precioso, como cordeiro sem defeito. Ele se ofereceu uma vez por todas para tirar os pecados do mundo.
For you know what was paid to set you free from the worthless manner of life handed down by your ancestors. It was not something that can be destroyed, such as silver or gold; it was the costly sacrifice of Christ, who was like a lamb without defect or flaw.
In the same manner Christ also was offered in sacrifice once to take away the sins of many. He will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are waiting for him.
Since this is true, how much more is accomplished by the blood of Christ! Through the eternal Spirit he offered himself as a perfect sacrifice to God. His blood will purify our consciences from useless rituals, so that we may serve the living God.
But if we live in the light—just as he is in the light—then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from every sin.
I passed on to you what I received, which is of the greatest importance: that Christ died for our sins, as written in the Scriptures; that he was buried and that he was raised to life three days later, as written in the Scriptures;
Your life must be controlled by love, just as Christ loved us and gave his life for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice that pleases God.
He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good.
Nosso sacrifício em resposta
Movidos pelo amor de Cristo, somos chamados a oferecer nossas vidas, nossos bens e nosso serviço como sacrifício vivo. Deus se agrada da entrega generosa.
Nor must you surrender any part of yourselves to sin to be used for wicked purposes. Instead, give yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes.
For if you want to save your own life, you will lose it, but if you lose your life for my sake, you will save it.
Honor the Lord by making him an offering from the best of all that your land produces.
Do what is right and fair; that pleases the Lord more than bringing him sacrifices.
Go and find out what is meant by the scripture that says: ‘It is kindness that I want, not animal sacrifices.’ I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts."
But I will sing praises to you;
I will offer you a sacrifice
and do what I have promised.
Salvation comes from the Lord!"
Certainly not God, who did not even keep back his own Son, but offered him for us all! He gave us his Son—will he not also freely give us all things?
"Father," he prayed, "my Father! All things are possible for you. Take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet not what I want, but what you want."
But I reckon my own life to be worth nothing to me; I only want to complete my mission and finish the work that the Lord Jesus gave me to do, which is to declare the Good News about the grace of God.
