8 You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve.* This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. 9 It isn’t something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about.

5 He saved us because

of his mercy,

and not because

of any good things

we have done.

God washed us by the power

of the Holy Spirit.

He gave us new birth

and a fresh beginning.

Even before time began

God planned for Christ Jesus

to show kindness to us.

16 *I am proud of the good news! It is God’s powerful way of saving all people who have faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.

6 *"I am the way, the truth, and the life!" Jesus answered. "Without me, no one can go to the Father.

9 Don’t you know that evil people won’t have a share in the blessings of God’s kingdom? Don’t fool yourselves! No one who is immoral or worships idols or is unfaithful in marriage or is a pervert or behaves like a homosexual 10 will share in God’s kingdom. Neither will any thief or greedy person or drunkard or anyone who curses and cheats others.

52 Jesus told him, "You may go. Your eyes are healed because of your faith."

At once the man could see, and he went down the road with Jesus.

That’s why I gave up nations

and people to rescue you.
