22 According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.  *

13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow, sprinkling those who are defiled, sanctify for the purification of the flesh,  *14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit  * offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our  * consciences from dead works so that we can serve the living God?  *

4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

12 Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the gate,  * so that he might sanctify  * the people by his own blood.

24 and to Jesus, the mediator  * of a new covenant,  * and to the sprinkled blood, which says better things than the blood of Abel.  *

7 If we walk in the light  * as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus  * his Son cleanses us from all sin.

7 In him we have redemption  * through his blood, the forgiveness  * of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

13 But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood  * of Christ.

28 For this is my blood of the covenant,*which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.*

5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness,  * the firstborn from the dead  * and the ruler of the kings of the earth.  *

To him who loves us and has set us free  * from our sins by his blood,  *

25 God presented him as the mercy seat  *,* by his blood,  * through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God  * passed over the sins previously committed.  *

9 How much more then, since we have now been justified by his blood,  * will we be saved through him from wrath.  *

21 Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, "Go, select an animal from the flock according to your families, and slaughter the Passover animal.  *22 Take a cluster of hyssop, dip it in the blood  * that is in the basin, and brush the lintel and the two doorposts with some of the blood in the basin. None of you may go out the door of his house until morning. 23 When the Lord passes through to strike Egypt and sees the blood on the lintel and the two doorposts, he will pass over the door and not let the destroyer enter your houses to strike you.  *

11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have appointed it to you to make atonement on the altar for  * your lives, since it is the lifeblood that makes atonement.  *

4 However, you must not eat meat with its lifeblood in it.  *5 And I will require a penalty for your lifeblood;  * I will require it from any animal  * and from any human; if someone murders a fellow human, I will require that person’s life.  *

6 Whoever sheds human blood,

by humans his blood will be shed,  *

for God made humans in his image.  *

33 "Do not defile the land where you live, for bloodshed defiles the land,  * and there can be no atonement for the land because of the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of the person who shed it.

11 They conquered him

by the blood of the Lamb  *

and by the word of their testimony;  *

for they did not love their lives

to the point of death.  *

18 For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life  * inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold,  *19 but with the precious blood of Christ,  * like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb.  *

28 Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock  * of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers,  * to shepherd the church of God,  * which he purchased with his own blood.  *

53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man*and drink his blood,*you do not have life in yourselves.54 The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood*has eternal life, and I will raise*him up on the last day,

6 Jesus Christ — he is the one who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water  * and by blood.  * And the Spirit is the one who testifies,  * because the Spirit is the truth.
