O que significa o sangue de Jesus

Na Bíblia, a expressão "sangue de Jesus" representa a sua vida entregue na cruz para resgatar a humanidade da condenação. Não se trata de uma fórmula mágica nem de um amuleto, mas da morte sacrificial e voluntária de Cristo que pagou a dívida do pecado, garantindo perdão completo e reconciliação com Deus.

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace(Ephesians 1:7)

28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.(Matthew 26:28)

Por que era necessário derramar sangue

Desde as primeiras páginas da Escritura, o sangue simboliza a vida da criatura. Como o pecado produz separação espiritual e morte, a Lei dada a Israel determinava que a culpa diante de Deus só poderia ser coberta mediante a entrega de uma vida substituta.

4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. 5 I certainly will require your lifeblood; from every animal I will require it. And from every person, from every man as his brother I will require the life of a person.

6 "Whoever sheds human blood,

By man his blood shall be shed,

For in the image of God

He made mankind.(Genesis 9:4-6)

11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.’(Leviticus 17:11)

Esse princípio ficou marcado na noite da primeira Páscoa, quando as famílias de Israel passaram o sangue de um cordeiro nos batentes das portas para que a morte não entrasse em suas casas. A justiça de Deus sempre exigiu a reparação da quebra da aliança.

21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, "Go and take for yourselves lambs according to your families, and slaughter the Passover lamb.22 And you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outside the door of his house until morning.

23 For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; but when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.(Exodus 12:21-23)

33 So you shall not defile the land in which you live; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of the one who shed it.(Numbers 35:33)

O sacrifício definitivo que encerrou os rituais antigos

Os sacrifícios da antiga aliança precisavam ser repetidos continuamente porque animais não tinham o poder de purificar a consciência de quem adorava a Deus. Eles funcionavam como uma sombra pedagógica que apontava para a vinda do Cordeiro perfeito.

4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.(Hebrews 10:4)

13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?(Hebrews 9:13,14)

Jesus ofereceu a si mesmo uma única vez e fora dos portões da cidade sagrada. Enquanto o sangue do inocente Abel clamava da terra por justiça e punição, o sangue de Cristo proclama graça, acolhimento e perdão eterno.

12 Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood.(Hebrews 13:12)

24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.(Hebrews 12:24)

Os efeitos do sangue de Cristo na vida de quem crê

O sacrifício na cruz opera efeitos imediatos e contínuos: anula a ira divina que pesava sobre a desobediência humana, pacifica a relação entre Deus e os homens e concede livre acesso à sua presença.

25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in God’s merciful restraint He let the sins previously committed go unpunished;(Romans 3:25)

9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.(Romans 5:9)

13 But now in Christ Jesus you who previously were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.(Ephesians 2:13)

Na caminhada diária, esse sangue mantém o crente purificado da culpa e das transgressões diárias, restaurando a comunhão com Deus e com o próximo.

Vitória espiritual e comunhão

A morte de Jesus comprou para Deus pessoas de todas as origens, estabelecendo a Igreja como possessão pessoal do Senhor. Por isso, a fidelidade cristã e a segurança diante das acusações espirituais não repousam em esforço próprio, mas na eficácia do que Cristo consumou no Calvário.

18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.(1 Peter 1:18,19)
