Santa ceia
As they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take and eat it; this is my body."Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks, he gave it to them and said, "Drink from it, all of you.For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
As they were eating, he took bread, blessed and broke it, gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is my body."Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant,,which is poured outfor many.Truly I tell you,I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vineuntil that day when I drink it new,in the kingdom of God."
And he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembranceof me."
In the same way he also took the cup after supper and said, "This cup is the new covenantin my blood, which is poured out for you.
O significado espiritual
A Ceia é participação no corpo e no sangue de Cristo. Jesus ensinou que quem come de sua carne e bebe de seu sangue tem a vida eterna.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will liveforever. The bread that I will give for the lifeof the world is my flesh."
So Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Manand drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves. The one who eats my flesh and drinks my bloodhas eternal life, and I will raisehim up on the last day, because my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.Just as the livingFather sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will livebecause of me.This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the mannayour ancestors ate — and they died. The one who eats this bread will live forever."
and when he had given thanks, broke it, and said, "This is my body, which isfor you. Do this in remembrance of me."
In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, and said, "This cup is the new covenantin my blood.Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
So, then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sin against the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself; in this way let him eat the bread and drink from the cup.
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
A prática da Igreja
Desde os primeiros cristãos, a Ceia do Senhor é parte fundamental da vida comunitária da Igreja, celebrada com reverência e exame de consciência.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.
On the first day of the week, we assembled to break bread. Paul spoke to them, and since he was about to depart the next day, he kept on talking until midnight.
It was as he reclined at the table with them that he took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.
So, then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sin against the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself; in this way let him eat the bread and drink from the cup. For whoever eats and drinks without recognizing the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.
