A segunda vinda de Cristo é a esperança suprema da Igreja. Jesus prometeu que voltará com poder e grande glória para julgar os vivos e os mortos e estabelecer seu Reino eterno.
A promessa do retorno
Jesus prometeu voltar. Os anjos declararam que Ele virá da mesma forma como ascendeu. A Igreja aguarda esse dia glorioso com expectativa.

The Way, the Truth, the Life

The increase of lawlessness
"Then they will hand you over to oppression and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will be offended, and they will betray one another and will hate one another. And many false prophets will be raised up and they will deceive many.
And because of the increase of the lawlessness the love of the majority will grow cold. So the one who perseveres to the end, he will be saved.
And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in the whole inhabited earth as a witness to all the ethnic nations, and then the end will come.
Because then there will be a great tribulation, such as has never been since the beginning of the world until now, and never again will be. And unless those days were cut short no flesh would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, the Messiah is here!’ or ‘there!’ do not believe him. Because false christs and false prophets will be raised up, and they will give great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.

A tree is known by its fruit
"Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

"Further, brother will betray brother to death and a father his child, and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake, yet he who endures to the end, he will be saved.
And there will be severe earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful events and great signs from heaven.
A vinda gloriosa

The King’s return to earth
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of the Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn—they will see the Son of the Man coming on the clouds of the heaven with power and great glory. And He will send out His angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they will collect His elect from the four winds, from one extreme of the heavens to the other.
Learn from the fig tree
"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and it puts forth leaves, you know that the summer is near. So you also, whenever you see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors!
For the Son of the Man will certainly come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will recompense each according to his performance.
Christ will return to the earth
"There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, at the roaring and tossing of the sea; men fainting from fear and expectation of the things coming on the inhabited earth—because the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of the Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

Vigilância e preparo
Ninguém sabe o dia nem a hora. Jesus nos ordena a vigiar, orar e estar prontos, pois Ele virá quando menos esperamos.

So be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that are about to happen and to stand before the Son of the Man."
so that you lack no spiritual gift as you expectantly await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the Day of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
A esperança bendita
A aguardamos a bendita esperança e a manifestação da glória do nosso grande Deus e Salvador Jesus Cristo.
