A Bíblia trata a sexualidade como um presente de Deus para o contexto do casamento. As Escrituras celebram a intimidade conjugal e orientam sobre pureza e santidade sexual.
A sexualidade no plano de Deus
Desde a criação, Deus projetou a intimidade sexual como expressão de amor entre marido e mulher, abençoando a união conjugal.
So God created humankind in his image, in the likeness of God he created him, male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of heaven, and over every animal that moves upon the earth."
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cling to his wife, and they shall be as one flesh.
And he answered and said, "Have you not read that the one who created them from the beginning made them male and female and said, ‘On account of this a man will leave his father and his mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate."
May your fountain be blessed,
and rejoice in the wife of your youth.
She is a deer of love and a doe of grace;
may her breasts satisfy you always;
by her love may you be intoxicated continually.
A santidade na intimidade
O leito conjugal é honroso. A Bíblia celebra a alegria da intimidade dentro do casamento e orienta o casal ao amor e respeito mútuo.
Marriage must be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed be undefiled, because God will judge sexually immoral people and adulterers.
The husband must fulfill his obligation to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but her husband does. And likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but his wife does.
But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with sexual desire.
Did not one God make them? But a remnant of the spirit is his. And what does the one God desire? An offspring of God. You must be attentive to your spirit, and you must not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth.
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Therefore, shall I take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For it says, "The two will become one flesh."But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.
Pureza sexual
Deus nos chama à santificação e à fuga da imoralidade. O corpo do cristão é templo do Espírito Santo e deve ser tratado com honra.
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a person commits is outside his body, but the one who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God with your body.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, just as also the Gentiles who do not know God;
But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or greediness, must not even be named among you (as is fitting for saints),
But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Let us live decently, as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and licentiousness, not in strife and jealousy.
"You shall not commit adultery.
" ‘None of you shall approach anyone who is his close relative to expose nakedness; I am Yahweh. You must not expose your father’s nakedness or your mother’s nakedness—she is your mother; you must not expose her nakedness. You must not expose the nakedness of your father’s wife—it is your father’s nakedness. As for your sister’s nakedness, whether your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether born at home or born abroad, you must not expose their nakedness. As for the nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, you must not expose their nakedness, because they are your nakedness. As for the nakedness of the daughter of your father’s wife, she is your sister, a relative of your father; you must not expose her nakedness. You must not expose the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative.You must not expose the nakedness of your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s close relative.You must not expose the nakedness of your father’s brother; you must not have sex with his wife—she is your aunt. You must not expose your daughter-in-law’s nakedness; she is your son’s wife; you must not expose her nakedness. You must not expose the nakedness of your brother’s wife; she is your brother’s nakedness. You must not expose the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, or her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter; you must not take her as wife to expose her nakedness; they are close relatives—that is wickedness. And you must not take as wife a woman with her sister, to be a rival-wife, to expose her nakedness before her during her life.
" ‘And you must not have sex with a woman to expose her nakedness during her menstrual uncleanness. And you must not have sex with your fellow citizen’s wife, becoming unclean with her.
" ‘And you shall not give any of your offspring in order to sacrifice them to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God; I am Yahweh. And you shall not lie with a male as lying with a woman; that is a detestable thing. And you shall not have sexual relations with any animal, becoming unclean with it; and a woman shall not stand before an animal to copulate with it—that is a perversion.
Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God with the likeness of an image of mortal human beings and birds and quadrupeds and reptiles.
Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to immorality, that their bodies would be dishonored among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God with a lie, and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed for eternity. Amen.
God Hands Sinful Humanity over to Depravity
Because of this, God gave them over to degrading passions, for their females exchanged the natural relations for those contrary to nature, and likewise also the males, abandoning the natural relations with the female, were inflamed in their desire toward one another, males with males committing the shameless deed, and receiving in themselves the penalty that was necessary for their error.
