Sonhos aparecem em toda a Bíblia como meio de revelação divina. Deus falou através de sonhos a patriarcas, profetas e servos, mas também alertou contra falsos sonhadores.
Sonhos como revelação divina
Deus usou sonhos para comunicar sua vontade a homens e mulheres ao longo da história bíblica, revelando caminhos e mistérios.
And He says, "Now hear My words: If your prophet is of YHWH, || I make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.
And it has come to pass afterward, || I pour out My Spirit on all flesh, || And your sons and your daughters have prophesied, || Your old men dream dreams, || Your young men see visions.
and Peter having stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them: "Men—Jews, and all those dwelling in Jerusalem! Let this be known to you, and listen to my sayings, for these are not drunken, as you take it up, for it is the third hour of the day. But this is that which has been spoken through the prophet Joel: And it will be in the last days, says God, || I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh, || And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, || And your young men will see visions, || And your old men will dream dreams;
As for these four boys, God has given to them knowledge and understanding in every [kind of] literature, and wisdom; and Daniel has given instruction about every [kind of] vision and dreams.
The king has answered and said to Daniel, whose name [is] Belteshazzar, "Are you able to cause me to know the dream that I have seen, and its interpretation?" Daniel has answered before the king and said, "The secret that the king is asking, the wise men, the enchanters, the scribes, the soothsayers, are not able to show to the king; but there is a God in the heavens, a revealer of secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar that which [is] to be in the latter end of the days. Your dream and the visions of your head on your bed are these:

And they say to him, "We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it"; and Joseph says to them, "Are interpretations not with God? Please recount to me."
And Pharaoh says to Joseph, "I have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it, and I have heard concerning you, saying, You understand a dream to interpret it," and Joseph answers Pharaoh, saying, "Without me—God answers Pharaoh with peace."
And on his thinking of these things, behold, a messenger of the LORD appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, you may not fear to receive your wife Mary, for that which was begotten in her is of [the] Holy Spirit, and she will bring forth a Son, and you will call His Name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."
And as he is sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Nothing—to you and to that Righteous One, for I suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."
A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. In YHWH’s turning back [to] the captivity of Zion, || We have been as dreamers.

A Bíblia ensina discernimento: nem todo sonho vem de Deus. Devemos entregar nossos planos ao Senhor e confiar na direção dele.
Roll your works to YHWH, || And your purposes are established,
The purposes in a man’s heart [are] many, || And the counsel of YHWH—it stands.
"When a prophet or a dreamer of a dream arises in your midst, and he has given a sign or wonder to you, and the sign and the wonder has come to pass, which he has spoken of to you, saying, Let us go after other gods (which you have not known) and serve them, you do not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer of the dream, for your God YHWH is trying you to know whether you are loving your God YHWH with all your heart and with all your soul; you walk after your God YHWH, and you fear Him, and you keep His commands, and you listen to His voice, and you serve Him, and you cleave to Him.
"I have heard that which the prophets said, || Who prophesy falsehood in My Name, saying, || I have dreamed, I have dreamed. Until when is it in the heart of the prophets? The prophets of falsehood, || Indeed, prophets of the deceit of their heart,
Behold, I [am] against the prophets of false dreams," || A declaration of YHWH, || "And they recount them, and cause My people to err, || By their falsehoods, and by their instability, || And I have not sent them, || Nor have I commanded them, || And they are not profitable to this people at all," || A declaration of YHWH.
For the dream has come by abundance of business, and the voice of a fool by abundance of words.
For in the abundance of dreams both vanities and words abound; but fear God.
